Description
I finally was able to complete the monster oil painting commission. 24x30 oils on masonite panel. This has been a huge learning experience in technique and lighting, and I am very pleased with the results. The paint is still wet, so this is unvarnished and some of the pigment areas are uneven in their sheen. This will be corrected once the finish goes on. This is a photo of the full painting, showing the lighting of the moon and from the phoenix. The concept here was death and rebirth. The ending of one life and the start of a new one, hence the dead dragon with the phoenix rising from its chest/abdominal cavity. Character is copyright to Ridayah. Do not repost.
