I know right? and best part is that it has a manual transmission.
Its one of those, left the dealership and never came back kind of deal. The guy maintained it on his own with random stuff found out here in the desert.

Eh, been pretty good. The Chevy needs a brake job and I have an interior kit to install in it.
Things are still going well with me and my lady, lots of schoolwork to catch up on, got a new camera. not much else.

Yeah, The day I took my chevy to the local christmas parade, I drove it around to check the car out before taking it far... The pedal stopped about an inch from the floor, and when we opened up the reservoir, there was hardly any fluid. I'm guessing it's a line or cylinder leak.
The funny part is, I was stupid enough to just put in more fluid and drive it the rest of the day. Luckily I didn't get any air in the lines.I didn't take it over 45 all day, and the thing engine brakes like nobody's business naturally, so I took the chance.

Oh awesome! Best bet might be both. Mainly the wheel cylinders. A quick pump or two and then go underneath the car and look at the inside wheel sidewalls.
Glad you survived LOL and yeah the engine braking will do ya well. does the hand brake work? Mine doesn't lol, the only way to slow down is by downshifting ahead of time. I have 0 brakes, beside the engine braking technique.

The parking brake holds okay on level ground, but it is NOT to be trusted. Once I set it on a hill, and it started rolling back. I need to adjust that. I usually just set the parking brake and put it in 1st or Reverse to keep it from moving.

Brakes on old cars are never to be trusted haha. You should adjust it. Is your parking brake system connected to the wheels or driveshaft? My car has the parking brake on the driveshaft (basically a wheel drum with companion flange at the end) I might convert my car to disc brakes, just for safety reasons and its more available.

I'm not sure, I've never had it apart. I'm pretty sure to the wheels, because my car has a torque tube rather than an exposed driveshaft.

Oh if it has the torque tube then most likely the parking brake is connected to the wheels instead of the driveshaft.
What's your opinion on converting to discs instead of the old 4 wheel drums?

I think drums are fine as long as they have been overhauled and are regularly serviced. Drums are fine as long as you keep in mind that you can't drive it like a modern car. Discs are technically better, but I wouldn't want them.

Oh I know, I do like the soft braking feel. But I'm in an area with hills and stop n go traffic, so I think disc brakes are a bit more practical.
