Description
India has finally settled down. After 20 years of bloodshed and fighting, millions of lives lost and millions of lives displaced- the war in India can finally stop. Or at the very least- take a breather. With India divided as it is right now and the current political situation of the continent, war is almost inevitable again. But for now, the world can cool off a little further. Siberia however has not cooled off. And the fighting between Russia and the Green Ukraine is quickly escalating. Either the Greens enthusiasm for war will diminish or the minutes left on the clock will wither away first. But we may need to pull out soon.
Further talks with Rome have solidified our relationship with the Empire and the Mediterranean through that of a small student exchange and cultural exchange- things such as movies, art, and even video games were swapped between the two nations. Despite this progress towards peace, agents of war and violence are present everywhere, and not with the Reich or the Britannians, but inside our own country- calling the Humanists Glorian lapdogs, and even assault on the Roman students. Thankfully nobody has been seriously injured, and the students so far are enjoying the rest of the country- even if some of it dosen't appreciate them.
But for 1998, many are excited for a different reason- not war or extraterrestrial ventures. But for the last election of the millennium, and with an all new party to boot! The New Millennium Party! Made from a merger of Laledale's group and parts of the ADP fed up with slow progress, the NMP has fought to run against the Humanists and what remains of the ADP. (And also the All-Seers, but they're fucking weird.)
The future is bright. Forget the American century. In a few years we shall see the start of the American Millenia.
A) Millennium Election- One more election! Who will take the crown- er the Presidents title? The new and upcoming NMP? The radicalized ADP, or the long-standing Humanists?
You only have 1 option.
For Humanity- Mondale insists on a 2nd term. I mean, look at what he's done! He's taken us to Venus and made contact with the first ever alien life! He has made great strides in peace and prosperity. Leading peace between the Indian nations, and the old guard of the Romans. Vote Mondale and Marquez for a great start to a great millennia!
A New America- The New Millennium Party shall step up to match the pace of America in the next era. The Humanists are nice, but they're too slow and are leaving important issues unanswered. Vote New Millennium, and vote Matt Marciano and Richard Laledale to take America further in 4 years, than the Humanists could in 4.
The Future is a Dream- The American Dreamers Party has not given up. Dwight O' Neil may be a traitor to the cause, but the ADP shall keep America on a correct path. Vote Ellis Wallace and VP "Double" Lewis for the spot of the American presidency. American culture and progress must be finely balanced, it ain't no dream!
American Paradise- The Artificial Eden Project shall see to it that the US and her culture are preserved forever in paradise. Even in the face of nuclear war, let the guidance of Samantha Ibaz and Theodore Kaczynski soar American ambitions beyond Sol.
American All-Seers- Elect Phillip Schieffer and his VP candidate George Ellis to lead America to the truth of the future- that the future is American obviously! Though American power and the All-Seers the future you see in dreams and fantasies can become a reality- a truth if you will.
B) Millenia Exhibition- With the 2nd Millenia coming up strong, we must make a spectacle of it- to remember it forever. To make of the 2000's an American era.
You have 4 options and 15 BP.
You have a BP limit of 22.
The Exhibition is at 35 Readiness
(4 BP) Century of Air- The Century Exhibit is a showcase of American achievements across the 20th century, one of the biggest accomplishments we have is our development of aircraft. From simple wood and fabric to supersonic jets, helicopters, and spaceflight.
(The Exhibition will gain 10 Readiness.)
(4 BP) Century of Autos- What better way to show off America industrial power than through automobiles and other wheeled vehicles? Cars, trucks, tanks, APC's, and more. America has evolved massively from horses and wagons to the Huey-MBT or the Lunar ATPC.
(The Exhibition will gain 10 Readiness)
(5 BP) Century of Navals- What the people want is spectacle, and nothing more spectacular than the giant ships of our arsenal. Battleships and dreadnoughts of days old past to the modern day carriers and missile destroyers, the people shall have bread and boats!
(The Exhibition will gain 10 Readiness. People will become more patriotic and jingoistic.)
(3 BP) Century of Culture- America is a nation of great progress and wonder- not just militarily or mechanically. Movies, papers, books, and comics, and more have been minted under the American banner. Show the world we aren't all about violence.
(The Exhibition will gain 10 Readiness. The public will be made less willing to fight a war- though more willing to do cultural exchanges.)
(4 BP) Free-Roaming- The animatronics could be made a little less intelligent in exchange for being made more interactive and mobile. This would make our metallic Presidents a lot more endearing to the public than just some static machines. Not to mention, easier to transport.
(The Exhibition will gain 5 Readiness. The public will however enjoy the exhibition a lot more, and morale will skyrocket.)
(2 BP) Metal Mannequins- The animatronic Presidents should be made as smart and close to the originals as possible- even if it means we have to lose some other functions.
(The Exhibition will gain 5 Readiness. The animatronics will be made a lot more lifelike- or close to the likenesses of the Presidents.)
(3 BP) The American Gardens- The lands of the US are a varied and beautiful place, from the forests of New England, the swamps of the Gulf Coast, to the deserts of Sonora. Presenting a beautiful garden of America's greatest treasures will bring awe and splendor to the people- and show just how vast thier nation truly is.
(The Exhibition will gain 15 Readiness. The American Gardens will be a 7th Wonder of the World, so they say at least.)
(4 BP) Treasures of Empire- The Autonomous Republics all have thier own splendor- from the jungle flora and fauna of Fredonia, to the spices of Central America, and the mangroves of the Philippines, this is truly what makes the US great. the collaboration of all Americans across the world.
(The Exhibition will gain 10 Readiness. The Autonomous Republics we have now will be more willing to integrate in the future. Fredonia and the Filipino nations will grow closer to the US.)
(6 BP) "Futurama"- Much is speculative about the future, much of it is unknown. And to the average person its scary. But for the next millennia we shall present what we think of the future and what we see the future will entail. Virtual playgrounds, commercial space travel, interspecies friendships and more!
(The Exhibition will gain 20 Readiness. The people will be excited for the unknown. Even if it may be detrimental.)

And as a small aside- with the Commodore V2 headed off to Venus by November/December of 1998, NAETA has asked the public to submit questions to ask the Venusians. They must be simple and basic, but please- any questions you have for the Venusians, will be appreciated.
