Description San Rafael Reef and Waystation alonf I-70 In Utah. Working with my ideas of shooting landscapes with attention given to include man-made objects within the scene. Not just well used "acceptable" objects like rusty barns and windmills, but modern stuff like a `93 Dodge Intrepid and a freeway. (it will look a lot cooler in 100 years)

that place is soo gorgeous,it surprises me you choose to do it in black and white... nice shot though, the sky and shadows it creates over the swell is a nice touch

this is amazing. film has so much more soul than digital and this proves it yet again. i agree bout including the element of man. were everywhere whether we like it or not.

Truely amazing contrast! Was that due to the chemicals?

I like the contrast of natural features and man made features. The cars look so tiny in comparison to the massive rock.

I think it looks pretty damn cool now! You managed to minimize the cars, and the curve of the freeway seems almost natural in a way. That ridge really dominates the photo and in the process puts the road in its place too, you know? I love it. So... silver. (the only silver photo I ever got was one of a pigeon on the sidewalk. )

looks as though the rocks are leaning back, relaxing... everything seems to be gravitating somewhere with private purpose, from the sweep of the sky to the curve of thee road... love it!

amazing! This reminds me of something that Ansel Adams would do. How did you get the almost IR tones?

I think the high contrast works for this photo. It gives more of an extreme environment feel, to go along with the craggy mountain, and somewhat barren land. And I can imagine the person by the intrepid screaming "What the fuck are you doing takin photos?! I locked the freakin keys inside, get your ass down here and help me get this shit open!"

My two cents. I want a refund.

Beautiful photo, I love the way the rocks seem to be "folded". The hight contrast between the parts in the shadows and the parts in the light makes it even more impressive.
The road and the cars look so small compared to those rocks....

I love the tonality, composition, way in which the road seems to dissappear into darkness, and your concept of including man made objects of all types into your shots, especially the more modern elements of society. This idea is contrary to the idea of the great 19th century American landscape painters like Thomas Cole, who was strongly against including any trace of human exsistence into his work. Very excellent work as usual.

i like the movement of the mountains compared to the way the road and cars are moving. the tone in the sky and rocks are great.

it's a bit touristy with the parking lot there, but the quality of the photo makes up for that.

this one is really well done... i love how the freeway fades to black over the right side of the photo.

are i think you're quite right... this photo does have the potential to become a "classic" that will be appreciated in one hundred years!
