Description My Forgeworld Contemptor Dreadnought, equipped with twin Kheres Assault Cannons and painted in pre-Heresy Thousand Sons livery. The IV on his knee represents the Fourth Fellowship.

Oath of moment on the cannon, shell casings, tabard, chains and fastenings made from greenstuff, chain ornaments and nasal crest made from plasticard.

Had fun with this guy, and I'm especially pleased with the tabard and ornaments. Though I'm not happy with how the red came out - I worked it up too much and lost most of the purple shades in the darker areas, as well as the edge highlights. Ah well, 'swhat I get for rushing it to get it done by Games Day, hehehe.

And that gorram Sons symbol never gets any easier to paint. >_<

Duuuude...this is BEAUTIFUL! I love the heating on the miniguns.
Also, there is a nice contrast betheween the red dread and white snow.

Thank you! The heating on the cannons was a bit of an experiment, I'm so glad they turned out decent, hehehe. And yeah, I love the contrast of the red against the blue/white snow.

Well nice paintjob. Love the overheat effect, but with this kind of arm positioning... Well it just looks like he's shooting at the ground (A bit senseless I think).

Hehe, thank you! It's a lovely model, though the legs are a pain to pose. The freehand is both fun and frustrating. XD I want to get some finer brushes one day.

You can't really dry-fit the legs to test out poses easily. It requires a fair amount of blu-tak, heheh. Trying out different poses for this guy's legs was a pain in the ass, and getting him glued down in the specific pose without shifting anything too far out was just... aaaaaagh. XD

And yeah, everything on this guy is freehand.

Ahh, I get you. Poor joint design? :/ I have one of the FW Tau battlesuits and it looks like the joints have too great a range of motion for easy posing during assembly!

And you deserve some kind of double brofist on the paint, then.

Eh, I wouldn't call it poor joint design... just difficult to work with. XD Range of motion is excellent, but yeah, you just can't pose it during assembly without holding everything in place in one way or another.

Hehe, probably! I've never really messed around with Tau models.

Muahaha. Yeah, the Dark Vengeance set is really damn nice. I didn't get a full set (mostly cos they'd be too much work to convert for my own army), but I did get given a Chaos Lord model from it, and I'm painting a friend's Chaplain for him as well. So nice! I admit I can't help but look forward to the next Chaos 'dex, and the upcoming Forgeworld Heresy-era 'dexes too.

Still can't get over the fact that the Helbrute has TOENAILS though. Srsly, wtf.

I really need to strip this one, I got it from a friend a few years back. Lovely model, but I don't like Tau at all besides these, so it's just a fun vanity thing rather than something to game with.

Also, I honestly hadn't seen those til you mentioned them. And now I can't UNSEE. Damnit.

(Also I am thinking I might go Night Lords for my resurrected Chaos army... Which means the fun of painting/converting Night Lords Beserkers and Plague Marines!)

I have a lot of fun with it! Mostly because in the group I play with, we've developed our own story line for all our armies that ties 'em in together and stuff. Story is awesome.

Thanks! One of my lamps stopped working before I started these photos, so I had to rely on the ceiling light instead of a lamp for the top light source, heh.
