Description
After a long fight I got this submitted through stash. Thanks for the hint.Yeah, so my next still untitled series is about Filly-Jack looking for different life in Manehattan. We'll see how big series it'll be depending on my inspiration.

I also filmed the whole inking process. In meantime, I'll upload the video in Youtube. First I just have to speed it up and stuff. I'll be adding the link somewhere when it's done.

This is just awesome. I love your style! It's a very uncommon one for pony art, which makes it that much more eye-catching. Not just the linework and hatching, but also the mixture of color and black and white. All of this makes me think of older independent comics from past decades.

Whereas I'm not really one for the "dark / emo" aspect of pony artwork (or really of any artwork for that matter), the scenes you've portrayed in this series are very well put together. A mild splash of color in an otherwise monochrome world, a touch of emotion in a place that's sterile and somber.
Having grown up in Paris, I understand exactly the emotions that are being portrayed by a lot of these images. This one in particular jumps out at me as I remember going to french school, being surrounded by nothing but buildings that all looked identical, the constantly overcast skies, and the filthy streets that you'd find if you walk only two blocks away from the touristy areas.
As an American growing up in Paris, this picture speaks even more to me since Applejack, a southern character, stands on a tiny service bridge as the only speck of color in the scene. Not to say that I was "the only good person" there, but I felt alienated and singled out at times because of my nationality.

I love this picture so much. The shading is brilliant and using colour only for AJ really adds to the effect that she is out of place

During our lifetime, we inevitably have to endure physical suffering such as pain, sickness, injury, tiredness, old age, and eventually death; and we have to endure psychological suffering like sadness, fear, frustration, disappointment, and depression. Although there are different degrees of suffering and there are also positive experiences in life that we perceive as the opposite of suffering, such as ease, comfort and happiness, life in its totality is imperfect and incomplete, because our world is subject to impermanence. Aj is about to find that out if I'm not mistaken.

I feel so bad for the lost little Filly, trying to find her way around the big dirty city. And boy did you do an awesome job inking up a messy, dirty city full of litter and smoke, the ickyiness of the water in the drainage channel. Yet the buildings themselves are still so neat and in good shape, all having nice individual styles. Certainly reminds me of my city where no matter how nice things are arranged, how perfect it's supposed to be, it's the inhabitants who can't even step ten hands to throw out their trash...
Well, again you've done a gorgeous job composing a realistic and actually (again) nice cityscape, but with the darkness around the sky's borders, the nearly empty sidewalks, and so many texture styles fitting together it boggles my mind. But then it's the cute little bit or orange and blonde staring up, so lonely and scared, that makes what looks just a bit messy seem like such a dirtier, scarier place.
I won't try to guess what else you have in store for us, both because I don't want to derail your vision but more because I really prefer to be surprised.
