Description My browser crashed every time I tried to upload this in a bit larger file. wasn't even that big file. But anyway, I'll try to resubmit this in better quality later if this doesn't look so good.

Spent a bit too much time with this I guess. I prefer working quite fast. And this was supposed to be something fast before I start the next series of drawings, but it turned out to be really slow process. Have to say, I'm quite disappointed in the outcome considering the time I used in it. I don't mean that I don't like it myself, but I could have done a better job in less time.

Don't know what to say about the work itself. It's the same old concept. This time Apple Bloom. Indian ink, nibs, cross-hatching, this time on A4.

The less detail you put into the building as it moves away from you, the taller it will appear. Same with the clouds. "Abbreviate" the line work in the distant parts of the scene.

Things that are closer have more detail than things that are further away.

I must say it's sometimes a bit hard to find appealing pony art done using traditional methods, but all of your works are quite incredible. You can sense an amazing amount of feeling coming out of what you make. I'm officially impressed, in both the emotional and technical elements found in your art. I know the creator is always more critical of his works than his viewers, but believe me when I say this is inspiring in many ways.

I love it, especially the perspective!
Some things take more time than expected but the result seems really good to me
Can't wait to see this new series of drawings you're talking about!

Thanks (:
I would so like to finish the first piece of the series before the third season. You know, before everybody gets crazy on the new episode. But I fear I'm running out of time : D We'll see (:

dear god's you did a quiet picture here with this smashing perspective, but my comments are getting old I must find a new way to give my compliments.
I must say:
We are amidst strange beings, in a strange land.
The flow of time itself is convoluted; with heroes centuries old phasing in and out.
The very fabric wavers, and relations shift and obscure.
There's no telling how much longer your world and mine will remain in contact.
Of course, we are not the only ones engaged in this.

You're doing like a true artist. Judging yoursef while other fall in awe by the sight of you amazing skills in drawing. Personally I'm also great found of your style which is also why you are on my top 5 artists list. It is just so insering to see your work almost without colors. It's almost like you know exactly what it is that I want and how I want it. Gives me the shivers sometimes... But nonetheless still you surprise me by your wonderful lines imagineable consepts.

Is that to say that this moment smells like beer, or that the rain will momentarily smell like beer?

It's a mystery yet to be solved by modern science.

Wonderful! Those moments just before the rain, so quiet and still, greatly catched. Love the dramatic perspective and how AB's hairs are done. Oh, and how do you make the hatching this delicate?! o__O Is it #107?

As about quality, IMHO, 600dpi is already an overkill a bit (:

SmellsLikeBeer In reply to McStalins [2012-11-04 21:14:40 +0000 UTC]

#107? You mean the nib size? I usually hatch with #100, you know, with this [link] kind of. About the quality, I prefer 1200dpi (I know, nobody will look that close that they would see the difference between 600 and 1200 : D ) It's just that after spending hours drawing something, you don't want it to look just blur and pixels. Then again it's just my perfectionism I think. If I can say that.
But thanks anyway (:

McStalins In reply to SmellsLikeBeer [2012-11-04 21:49:21 +0000 UTC]

Ah, #100, looks like they have a pretty interesting fine point nibs set. Sadly, they don't distribute here ):

BTW, I feel kinda curious, is your signature relly not there, or am I just not enough observant?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SmellsLikeBeer In reply to McStalins [2012-11-04 21:53:21 +0000 UTC]

My signature's there, I'm afraid it just might be a bit too well hidden in the hatching. But it's just a boring one, didn't try anything clever this time.
