Description
A bit bigger drawing than the usual, A4 this time. I thought that totally black & white would fit this better than watercolors, so this time no painting. I didn't think too much when I started this and I ended up again with Fluttershy and a bridge. Oh me.I'm quite satisfied with this one. Of course it could be better, but still it's kinda nice.
Sad though that 1200dpi was too big. I don't understand these computer things, but when I rotated the picture, it doubled the file size, so I had to use 600dpi instead so that it would fit DA. Now there's almost no zoom and you can't see all the details. (For example, you probably can't find the hidden Derpy in the picture!) Well, one more reason to download this, right?
Anyone know if this file size doubling can be avoided?
I don't know about this critique request. Should I use it now while I still got the premium membership?

There's so much amazing detail in your ink work that I can get lost in the technique alone, but all together is serves a much more splendid purpose in bringing the sad scene to life.
Obviously Fluttershy is feeling some sort of pain as she steps towards the very shallow water or muck of the riverbed. With the broken fences, what looks like downed tree, and the smashed tower I guess this is just some forgotten, isolated spot (perhaps and old lookout post) she uses to deal with her grief in peace. Even though it's intact, even the bridge "is sad" with out a purpose anymore. If the riverbed isn't dry it looks like it's rarely more than muck. So no worries about the broken fence. (I do have to say that the rock kind of looks like an overturned kayak... nah.)
So yes, there's beauty in this sadness which Fluttershy crystallizes wonderfully. Yet there's still so much beauty in the background and the life that surrounds the scene. You did a fantastic job bringing it to life, especially in such a wide and well-selected variety of textures.

Awesome pen work, I love the craftsmanship of this piece! Great subject too. only tiny complaint is the sky lines seem to blend in with the tower, it took me a few seconds to realize they were different objects. Keep up the great work!
