We see these caterpillars more and more last years. Probably because are climate is slowly changing (c.q. becoming warmer during winter) so they have more chances to survive our winters.

Probleem: hoe eigenaardig het mag klinken, maar een opwarming van de aarde zou voor ons op langere termijn wel eens een kouder klimaat kunnen opleveren.

Dat klopt.
De (warme) golfstroom die voor de West-Europese kust stroomt zou wel eens van koers kunnen veranderen!
En vermits ons landje zich op de zelfde breedteligging bevindt als Canada zou het hier 's winters wel eens wat frisser kunnen worden.

Ja een ijsbaan hebben ze er 's winters al. Langlaufen met hier en daar een stop om een terrasje te doen zou eens wat anders zijn.
