Once again I must thank Brahma Bear for countless hours of inspiration. The sketch for this was done way back in August but I always knew I wanted to do more with it. I actually colored it over a week ago but only just found the time to finish it up. I probably went a little overboard with trying to get the water effects perfect (they're far from it) but oh well. Hopefully I captured the emotion of the scene, it was one of my favorites. ;n;

i actually never get to experience disney afternoon, well actually just some of the last shows like aladdin and that one with timon and pumbaa but i had like 3 years old and those remembers are really fuzzy in my head, but your artstyle is really cute so i like watching it even if i really dont know anything about the show

I loved the Aladdin series, it was (still is) one of my favorites! Did you know they had the cast dressed as TaleSpin characters in the episode "When Chaos Comes Calling"?
What cracked me up the most is the fact that Iago, my favorite character from Aladdin, is dressed as Kit, who is one of my favorite TS characters.

i wish i could remember that easily, but everything is so fuzzy that it's too much hard to me to remember anything aside from the theme song. maybe some day i will rewatch some episodes to have that felling of deja vu

Wow! This was unexpected and has blown me away. There's so much detail, the puddles, the moss hanging from the trees, the fern and its individual leaves, its incredible. Really like those trees in the background, the deep forest greens and browns, and the subtlety of the moss on the bark. Karnage is appropriately soaked and tattered (and its just occurred to me that he could use a patch over that right elbow!), and I'm just wild about everything about this pic. Thank you for taking the time to bring it to color like this, it's superb! I'm also curious, after seeing 8OV's comment, which parts were digitally touched up?

A little bit of everything: I ink, color and shade the whole picture by hand first then do another layer over the characters digitally to tweak the colors a bit and add some extra shading to the fur/clothing. The puddles, blood and moss don't show up nearly as well on the original but with the digital touch-ups I think they really "pop". I also like making the background a bit "softer" and less grainy on the computer. Here's the original scan to compare: sta.sh/0qm4qsq6ker

Haha, I've had many obsessions through the years and they never fail to inspire me artistically. Just like The Lion King I've loved TaleSpin since I was a kid. My "crazy" obsessions with certain characters may come and go but they always come back tenfold.

really great touchups digitally. the hybrid of the two methods is always the best. you're so great with the beach sand there but i don't wanna even guess how long that took

Thanks!! ;v; No, you really don't wanna know how long I nitpick at the little things like that. Sometimes ocd is useful. XD I basically end up coloring everything twice, it was already fully colored and shaded by hand but it pops so much better with a few touch-ups.
