Yay for having girls play sports just as hard as the boys! Or harder, because Temari and Tenten are like Tank Sisters or something. I love them!

I don't actually follow ice hockey or teams or anything, but I love this story. It features Hinata as a kickass high school goalie who becomes the lone girl recruited into the Konoha Heat, a Major Junior team captained by Neji (Sasuke and Naruto are assistant captains).

After reading about Hinata and her closest friends, fellow Konoha High teammates Temari, Tenten, and Ino, preparing for the big final against Iwa, I just had to draw the girls in their gear. I love that the girls' friendship takes on its own role in the story. But that doesn't mean there aren't pairings--the only sure pairings are NejiTen and eventual SasuHina. Who Ino gets paired off with hasn't been revealed, but I'm personally rooting for Naruto since he's so hung up on a deliciously bitchy Sakura. And Gaara and Kankurou aren't left out--they play for the Suna Major Junior Team, Konoha Heat's rivals. As brothers of one of Hinata's best friends, you can imagine their level of familiarity (it's really quite cute!) and what might happen when Hinata joins the Heat. Oh ho ho!

This picture took SOOOO much longer than expected, mostly because at one point, I lost more than half the layers! Very frustrating. Anyways, the girls' jerseys used to say KONOHA in big blue letters across their chests on top of the orange spiral, but it looked terrible. And I picked blue and orange as the Konoha High School colors because it was mentioned that the prestigious Konoha Academy's color was green--just a bit of contrast. Oh, and that "C" on Temari's jersey means she's the captain.

Tenten, Temari, Hyuuga Hinata, and Yamanaka Ino belong to Kishimoto Masashi. "Behind The Mask" belongs to ~aFlawedDesign . Awesomeness belongs to the ass-whoopin' girls pictured.
