Description
This is a cross-over project that just came to me during a discussion with a group of friends. It is an extension of an old render sequence I did. Basically I wanted to revisit the place, as it is full of great memories I hesitated with the narrative, but for those who don't mind a bit of reading... see below (I do think its a bit rusty however haha).
--------------------------------------
With the change of seasons, hunting has become increasingly lucrative. The lush forests now teaming rich with game, have lifted the spirits of the hunters and energized their competitive streak.
Skete and I decided to venture the rainforest to the east of our homeland, rather than compete the others in the usual hotspots. It wasn’t long into our journey, however, that I was startled by a curiously familiar setting. Skete didn’t seem surprised by my recognition, as it wasn’t uncommon for us to explore beyond our permitted range from the village. But this place seemed so different, it felt strong with emotion, and I couldn’t quite place it.
I scanned my surroundings like a wild cat, desperately seeking something to trigger the memories. Skete seemed eager to stand by me as I wondered into the open expanse. We walked along a dried up river bed, and passed below a series of giant tree roots that bridged a crossing. There were no signs of people having been here, at least not in a very long time.
Almost having left the memory behind I heard a metallic grind below my boot. An arrow head protruded from the soil. I placed my bow over shoulder and used the blade of my dagger to pry it from the ground.
“An arrow of the tribe…” Skete announced in revelation as the two of us looked closely at the craftsmanship. The arrow was remarkably preserved, the shaft still intact and fletching, although mangy was still perceptible. “Cub fletching, I wonder whose it was.”
I felt a growing smirk as it all began to make sense to me. “It was mine.” I confirmed with great satisfaction. Skete’s eyes winced in confusion. Still holding the arrow, I spun around and locked eyes to the bridge ahead. “The memory was excitement. I crossed blades for the first time with a great mentor.”

Very good work of placing them in the background and placing some plants in the foreground. It gives it a lot of depth. I try to do the same thing with png. plants found on the internet.

Wow, great scene: it looks like a snapshot from a real film ('Apocalypto' style or something in the same league) !
Congratulations, it's an astonishing render !

Great image, very natural of course but the clarity of the image and the lighting is awesome. I love the selection of plants you used in the foreground.

Your attention to detail and your story telling ability are such an inspiration for me. Never rush a piece and never be sorry for taking your time to get it right. The results speak for themselves.
