*sigh*Have you ever started on a painting with the best of intentions only to have it run away from you? *nods* that’s what happened here. Only, this one didn’t just run…it screamed away at top speed and never looked back. I hate absolutely everything about it and am pretty well pissed off that I failed to turn out a decent image. This does not, of course, hold any bearing on the lovely model - ~Luna65 and her photographer Brian Mackey ... Only on my lousy planning and execution.
I'm posting it to show that not everything is peachy and keen all the time in the world of Stacey’s painting. The anatomy is screwed, the hair needs a TON of work, the hands are flat and the teeth hate me enough to bite. Truth be told, the color pallet really should have been a deep henna red ( my original intention), not blue, but my inner child enjoyed the concept of playing off the original photo’s title being ‘Black’
Yeah..Black and Blue. Clever, right? *rolls eyes*

A kabillion times better then I could ever do! The eyes are amazing and so real! And the hair over the face is really really good. So is the proportion and angles. It's really good. And the color is awesome.
One of my favorite quotes about art and artists:
"An artists harshest critic is always themsleves" I believe that's true here, but there's always good in the bad!

well I am shattered now... especially after the "Yes. I'm a dork" comment, we all have bad days or work we would take out to a field and ritually set fire to, but with out it we could never be satisfied that the really awesome work we do is actually that

High ya' Stacey. I wouldn't disagree with anything that you said above, although, its still far better than most digital painting you see on DA, so don't be too hard on yourself
