This piece feels fragile and tranquil, yet tragic, and still demanding. Powerful.

This is beautiful. I love the earthy tones, and the soft focus. It's all very evocative.

beautiful. but you should require the full size view - its subtlety and beauty really come thru at full size
btw, who is the model?

Hi there

It's strange to me, to be honest. I always look at artwork at full view, and thus I assume that if people are interested in the work, that it would occur to them to also click the image for a full view. That they would not, is indicative to me of desiring only a 'quick peek' rather than becoming invested in the work itself.

Which is understandable, really. DA is so full of remarkable works that it would eventually become 'easier' to simply view things as they are without the effort of trying to see what might be missed in a full view (rather like a conversation we recently had, no?

As such, I simply leave such things to the viewer lest they feel I am pressuring them to become invested in a work they'd rather 'eek' at and leave with a feeling of obligation. This work, along with 'Solace' and 'Cold Comfort' are highly personal to me and the notion of prompting viewers to take a closer look seems almost intrusive.

After all.. It's all right there for them to see, should they choose to look, no? "P

No model here. Just random human figure work. I'd initially used a 3d human as a 'sitting model' as I do when I cannot shoot or paint from life, or when the work is too personal for me to collaborate with another and I require some sort of reference. However, the anatomy of a 3d model leaves a great deal to be desired, so it was purely for loose reference at best. Mostly for mass and proportions.

Hope your Christmas break is going well and that your holidays are merry!
