"Why is it taking so long..." Uhodari looked over. "I am really a betrayer.. Mother will sure kill.. Simba! That is it, she planned her revenge upon Simba! I got to warn them..." Uhodari jumped up and dashed off to the Pride Rock.
But before he could get there, Kupambana was already on the Pride Rock. The lionesses were scattered in hunting, only Simba and Kovu remained at the den, and Kupambana striked the former outlander against the rock.
"I will care for you later." She growled. "Simba, old friend, remember me?" She smirked, approaching the elder.
"Kupambana. What are you doing here? I thought you found your own lands off from the borders."
"Yes, I did.. But I want to extend MY kingdom.. And for that, I will take over the Pridelands, too."
"No." Simba growled. "Only over my carcass!" He yelled and ran to attack Kupambana, but he was too old for fighting.
"Haha, it will only seal your death faster." Kupambana striked him, breaking his jaw. "Now listen here. When you are gone, I will be the new queen. Your Kovu will also die, and I will tell the lionesses it was the hyena clan's fault. Uhodari was the one supposed to do that, but like Kovu betrayed Zira, he betrayed me. I will not let my destiny be the same as my sister's."
"T-then it was your fault! Not Uhodari's! I heard you adopted him, so YOU forced him to do that!"
"Right, Simba.. You are old, but still as smart as you always was. But Uhodari was my puppet, and YOU broke the ropes between us. You will pay, Simba, and so will you dear family, including Kovu and Vitani, for letting my dear sister die."
"I-it can't be.." He said and coughed up blood when Kupambana ripped off his weakened chest.
"FATHER! STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" Kiara snarled and striked Kupambana away from him, followed by Nama and Uhodari.
"Uhodari! What are you DOING?! You PROMISED me you wouldn't do mistakes again!" Kupambana snarled.
"Yeah. And I will not. I will not let you harm Simba and his family." Uhodari growled.
"Then.." She sat up, with a wide-open smirk on her face. "However, you are late. Simba is over there, I ripped part of his chest."
"Enough." Nama roared. "Get lost before I change my mind on letting you live."
"Oh, as you wish.. My princess..." Kupambana submissively went out of the cave, heading back to the Outlands, right before Zazu flew in.
"S-Simba..." Zazu flew right onto a stone closeby.
"Z-Zazu... Call the lionesses..." Simba moaned and coughed up some more blood.
"As you wish." Zazu flew off, rushed.
Uhodari sighed. "I-I will wait outside..." He padded out.
Kovu woke up with a moan. "Simba!" He stood up and ran up to him.
"Kovu.. Get some rest... It is good for you after the attack.."
"But what about you?"
"I will be okay.." Simba raised his eyebrows and half-closed his eyes in a tired expression. "I will at least join my father..."
Nala, Vitani and the lionesses who weren't there ran into the cave.
"Simba!" Nala ran in and nuzzled her mate. "What happened to you, dear..." She sobbed.
"Kupambana... She attacked us.."
"And it was all his fault.." Kovu glared at Uhodari, who was looking in from the Summit.
"No, it wasnt! He tried to warn us!" Nama interrupted.
"Nama is right... Plus, Kupambana was using him as a pupppet..."
"Oh, fine.." Kovu looked back outside, as soon as Timon, Pumbaa and Rafiki went in.
"Pal! Tell us, what happened to you!" Timon ran up to Simba, followed by Pumbaa.
"Kupambana attacked.." Nama answered instead of her grandfather.
"Oh Simba.. I don't think that wound has a way to heal.. It is too deep into your heart, and you lost too much blood.." Rafiki sighed, after checking on the wound.
"It is ok, Rafiki, old bud... At least I will join my father... At least I could live enough to warn you guys..." Simba managed to speak, his breathing was too slow. He coughed up some more blood, and with a moan, he closed his eyes as his heart stopped beating.
"Mufasa... May you care for your son.." Rafiki lowered his head, together with the lionesses. The former outlanders, Nama, Kiara, Kovu and Nala started sobbing.
"What did I miss! Zazu warned me!" Chaka ran in, panting.
"Oh brother...!" Nama ran up to him and nuzzled him. "Grandpa is dead! Kupambana killed him!"
"First Shani, now grandpa! This can't be happening!" Chaka said, painfully, and started crying. "And why is he here..." He sobbed and glared at Uhodari, who also was crying.
"He is who warned us about the attack.. If it weren't for him, grandpa would be dead when we arrived. And Kupambana would name herself Queen under lies, just like Scar did." Nama sobbed.
"Right... I guess I will thank him later on.."
Simba woke up, but he was not at the cave in the Pride Rock, nor in any place he knew. "What's this.. Looks like I am stepping on a cloud... Father!" Simba looked up and ran up to his father, nuzzling him.
"My son.." Mufasa smiled. "You do not know how proud I am out of you... You protected the Pride and your family until the last moment.."
"I don't know.. I couldn't fight..." Simba sighed.
Mufasa's smile vanished, as he reached a serious expression. "Nor would I, if I had an old body like you had."
"No, I couldn't fight my enemies, neither on the day the Outlanders joined us.. I could fight Zira instead of Kiara!"
Mufasa frowned. "Listen, son!" He was on the same tone he had when talking to Scar. "You are not weak! If it was Kiara who fought Zira, that is because she was supposed to, not you!"
"I guess you are right.." Simba sighed, looking up again.
"Let's go, my son. Mohatu, my grandfather, wants to talk to you."
"Fine.." They went off to the are the Great Kings of the Past rested at.
