This illustration for the still to be written pulp-style story “Nighthawk” is, very loosely, based on some sort of monorail that did exist, if briefly. The ill-fated think wrecked—on its first run! Probably not the best of auspices for the future of this dieselpunk story. I can only hope that this electric, streetcar-like version which Nighthawk rides on top of at the level of skyscrapers will take the whole concept to new heights.
