YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
You make things so easy to understand! Why can't politicians be this straightforward?

"I need to go make a tin foil hat!"Β Β
Honestly though - this reminds me of English class where we talked about the importance of understanding everything thrown at you from the media and while we did focus on brand names / advertisements we focused more on politics and democracy with it.Β
It is so important to look past the brand name and what it's associated with and actually look at what it's doing, how it's doing it and why.
I really enjoyed this comic, it's very thought provoking.Β

Can I buy the paperback of Brick by Brick trough another platform than Amazon, too?
Personally I found branding to be quite dangerous for my mood as artist if not balanced trough experiments.

Awesome! I bought the workbook version, didn't know there was one.
(also, you're selling it nearly at production cost, don't you?)

Again - brilliantly done Stephen - even without the thoughtful message this is just a really well drawn comic strip - LOVE some of those angles!! McCloud better watch himself ^_^Β

Ha ha-- I know what you mean-- I can't believe I'm making comics about branding. who does this?!

This is why media franchises end up so recycled. If you want to make a quirky action title, and the title and premise is new, you're starting from square one. If you remake Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you already have a reputation in the public.

It's refreshing to see a calculation of both sides of something on the internet, especially when it comes to something so business related as "Branding". It's difficult to have a conversation or read an article that doesn't end with praising a specific label like the writer's been paid off, or some metaphor along the lines of the subtext of "A Machine for Pigs".

Irony is when I ask for a kleenex, but refuse to buy anything other than puffs plus lotions. So everytime I say kleenex...I'm handed a puff. Puffs are perfection for a sad sad nose.

Wow this is so accurate
I watched a show at TV and they talked about green products and they made an experience:
they filled bottles with tap water with a famous brand stick on the bottles, they made some people drink this water while telling them it's a new brand of spring water
And people said that this water tasted good just because the journalist told them it was a brand of water
And when the journalist told them the truth, they laughed and felt ridiculous
This is strange, branding has such a powerful influence into our mind

Was it Penn and Teller's BS?
they did this except they used water from a garden hose and pretended it was all sorts of different "gourmet" water brands

I remember a few months back, I was all ready to go to bed and I stumbled across doodle alley. I was up to the early hours of the morning reading these comics. I've re-read them all since. Twice. I've never really read anything inspirational/motivational that resonates with me as much. It's not just the writing, of course; I love how expressive your comics are, too! Great job with this one; it's amazing how easily people fall into the trap of thinking a logo is the unforgettable stamp, rather than the idea.
