Description I've finished re-texturing my robot chicken. Now I just have to do the other 3 robots 0_o. Oi! These were textured with nDo2, dDo and I hand painted a lot of textures too. Rendered in marmoset toolbag.

I plan on releasing this rig to the public in time, hopefully someone will have fun animating it.

This looks AMAZING, you somehow improved on the already fantastic textures. You REALLY need to get these guys animated, and I REALLY need to finish rigging the hover drone, lol. Certainly right back to the top of my list of shit to do.

woohoo! I optimized all their meshes too, this guy went from like...80k to 46k (probably could of gotten it down to 20k but I had to get on with it), "Dudley" is down to 25k. Wait til you see the demo reel piece I have to finish for Tuesday! oh baby. Know anything about baking animations in max?

I haven't done it personally, though there's apparently something to do with FBXs Make sure you send me the files so I can shove these guys in my reel too :3

Will do. I don't need to bake animations. I asked cory and he seemed to only think it'd work if the robots had bones which they don't. For your reel I could do a little simple animation of him stretching and looking around in max. If you render it realtime with xoliul you should be able to get quite a nice picture and be able to show off the rig controls.

That'd be great too. But anything you come up with is better then what I have. I figured I'd render it out in a few different passes, some with the controls renderable. Not having bones makes it less pretty, maybe I'll toss in a few and pretend like it's being run by them Really there was no reason I couldn't do them with bones, I just figured because I wasn't skinning it I didn't need them.

Well, if you did do some bones that would make animations able to be baked out and exported to UDK, that'd be awesome. I'm hoping to bring it all into UDK, get some nice lighting and particle effects (smoke from the exhaust vents, sparks from wires, etc). We'll see! I'll send you the new files when I get a moment.
