Ahh I love photos that are meant to show a perspective not usually photographed. It's almost like a spightful photo, you know? haha anyway, I love this (more so than the IR one you made). Very nice!

oh, so so nice
i always love this perspective, a shot up a wall of a tower or something like that.
anyway its hard to explain
maybe my monitor is too bright but it might be a tiny bit overexposed in the left bottom corner where the while couds are. might just be me. i tend to like images darker. hehe

This is a technically well taken photo. The exposure is correct, it is sharp and free of defect. However, there are a couple of (hopefully) helpful hints I would like to provide.

Basically, the issue is composition. You almost divide the picture plane in half. Putting the most important element of your picture off center is generally a good idea. However, you should also consider where that places the strongest lines in your composition. Unfortunately, in this case that happens to be dead in the center. Vertically, the top of the tower is too close to the top of the frame for my taste. This makes the viewer's eyes wander to the edges of the piece. Without another detail to bring them back into the piece, they will lose attention. When you are looking through the viewfinder/at the lcd, really think about where your eyes move in the picture. Optimally, they move in some sort of pattern that repeats again and again. That means that you really want to look at the image!

I hope I could be helpful. Keep at it!

well the quality and such is good but there's nothing really happening in this picture, some clouds would have helped, even with that i don't think this one would have been a success story. I got a lot of these photos on my harddrive, I had an idea, went out, took the photo and came back home, put it in the copm. and wonder what the fuck i was thinking. I must have hundreds of good ideas that turned out crap. But as long as you practice and take lots of photos you'll get some good ones

im really likeing this shot... when you first glance at it, it looks like the walls of the canyon with their rich earthy colours, but then you see its ordered nature and realise its man made.

great photo

This is a nice photo, with colours that fit together. The most interesting part of this tower is the 'sculpture' below. I mean that would it be for me. I see you put the sharpness in the 'sculpture'
and i wonder why not showing more of it (if there is...?)

Mainly because it wasn't a sculpture. Just some rocks that make up the bottom of the tower.

this is a really cool building. I love old stuff I've been in AZ for a year and still haven't made it to the Grand Canyon...maybe I'll do that soon. (I blame you) eeeeeee (that's the happy noise) eeeeee!

You'll thank me if you go! I did the "Morning Photography Walk" with a person from Kodak. We had to meet by the rim at 6am, and it was amazing the way the light played on the rock formations! I hope you have a lot of fun there!

You know, when I take pics of stuff taller than me it looks like I'm taking pics of stuff taller than me. This looks like you intentionally took a photo from that angle to stress power, height, age, majesty, grandeur... *sigh* not fair. This is too good. wonderful juxtaposition of sky and building, too. Darn you.

Well it's a "touristy" photograph to my way of looking. You can almost hear the person who is showing it to you, telling you what it is, and what happened next. Just my two cents

I've been there. It was beautiful if I recall it.

Although most shoot a picture of the Canyon, not the buildings around it. I guess that makes you a different type of person.

Beautiful shot.
