This is the first in a projected series of costume portraits, to be used for Group IDs for .This one features Henrietta Anne Stuart, the youngest daughter of Charles I and Henrietta Maria, and the wife of Phillipe d'Orléans, the brother of Louis XIV. Famous for her beauty and wit, she was a scandalous figure during the 1660s- she was Charles II's favorite sister (he called her "Minette"), and she was also the supposed lover of the French King. When she died in 1670, many people thought she had been poisoned by one of her husband's boyfriends. An autopsy revealed that she had died of a perforated ulcer, though controversy over this continues to this day. (She is a main character in Dumas' "The Vicomte de Bragelonne," and her death is a key scene in Karleen Koen's "Dark Angels.")

In Frances Mossiker's book, "The Affair of the Poisons" she deals with a major poisoning murder investigation involving the court of Louis XIV in 1680, following the poisoning trial and execution of the Marquise de Brinvilliers in 1676, and a series of sudden high rank deaths including that of the Princess Henrietta of Orleans. The suspicions of poisoning in her case dealt with how she had returned home from riding, and requested a glass of "chicory water" as a restorative, and collapsed and died a few hours later. Under those circumstances it is no wonder that suspicions of murder arose from the circumstances.

This one reminds me the figure of a woman seen in "A Dancing Couple" by Gerard Terborch. I'm fond of cavalier period - shame the fashion have been changing quite fast then. The mens' wardrobe was very sophisticated and womens' garments were very feminine.
You got the flow of fabrics perfectly, but I would like to see them a little more glittering in the light.
It is nice to see round lines in Your shadings - it helps to emphasize subtle curves of the body and the garment as well.

I liked it, it's good in some parts even if the Muskteers do not show off a lot. The courtisan part was entertaining to my taste.

ooo! Philippe D'Orleans! He's in the anime we're watching called "Chevalier D'eon". He's playing one of the "bad guys" against his nephew Louis XV. XD

I'm not sure who the Duke of Orleans was during the Chevalier's time, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Henrietta Anne's husband, since he died in 1701. [link] And the Chevalier was born in... 1728? 
But the anime looks cool though!
