Simone Williams wants to learn the ins and outs of multiple martial art and compile them into one super style. Fighting is fun, but frequently secondary to her initial goal of just learning and applying. If left to her own devices she'd wander from gym to gym soaking and absorbing and applying. Fighting is just the enjoyable method of learning, applying, and trading techniques. Even her academic career is just another method of learning and applying.

Her mother, however, and the world at large seldom ever leave Simone to her own devices. And so the daughter of a famous, retired, boxer and gym owner has grown up around martial art her whole life and has insight and prediction skills beyond her years. That might be the recipe for a vicious fighter if Simone wasn't so much more interested in looking, being cool every time she slides on her gloves. While her mother might preach efficiency, Simone has a love for flourishes and analyzing her opponents. What keeps Yolanda Williams up at night is that her middle child is frequently able to forsake efficiency and still win. Who knows when that'll end but her mother can't seem to make Simone care. Fighting her way feels, and looks, good, so why abandon it?

Her mother calls her 'Slick,' her gymmates call her 'Sleepy,' and she used to call herself 'Savant' until she got sick of people calling her 'Idiot Savant.' For now, she's 'Sage,' and while that's likely presumptuous for a girl who hasn't hit 20 yet, she treats the moniker like a goal. She simply wants to know how to do all the cool shit. Building her own combos and strings and seeing what she can convince people to let her do to them is where the fun lies. She's got no taste or patience for the grinding, clash of wills presented by clinching or wrestling, preferring the dynamism or striking and submissions. Simone hopes to never ever win by decision.

A professional MMA career feel inevitable at this point, but you can bet that 'Sage' will branch out into anything that provides that same rush that slipping and counterpunching do. She's young, inquisitive, flirty, and a little hood, and all of that terrifies the mother who intends on carefully crafting and steering her daughter's nascent professional career.
