Personality:

Toshi is, to put it simply, a little bit all over the place. He has a tendency to be scatterbrained, ranging from jumping from topic to topic in conversation without warning to constantly misplacing things. He's often forgetful when it comes to small things like this, and has a bad habit of shrugging it off even when it causes trouble for himself or others -- luckily, since it's usually less important things that he forgets, it doesn't create too much trouble most of the time. Part of forgetfulness stems from a short attention span.

His habit of jumping topics is made worse by how simply talkative he is. Conversations with him can unintentionally turn onesided if his conversation partner can't keep up with him, but he seems to either not notice or not care; it's hard to tell which. Toshi can be a bit eccentric at times, and while these eccentricites show through his overzealous speech and body language, they can most clearly be seen in his suspicious demeanor -- rather than being a suspicious person, he often finds himself suspicious of others and their intentions. Because of this, he becomes very nosy about people, things, events, and anything else he can stick his nose into to try and get to the truth.

Even though he harbors these wayward suspicions about everything around him, Toshi still tends to put himself out into the world without much thought. This contradicting behavior is only one example of his occasional hypocritical behavior, in which he will say one thing and then do another without actually considering this fact. Despite this lack of common sense, he is surprisingly intelligent when it comes to more concretely objective things, such as technology as a whole -- but that's to be expected of a Porygon, isn't it?

History:

The beginning of Toshi's existence is a bit complicated... Mostly because he can't actually recall it. Unknown to him, he was created by a scientist in Kanto by the name of Toshinori Itoh, who intended to program him for the purpose of entering restricted cyberspace areas to gather information to be later unencrypted. He was the scientist's first attempt at this, and was thusly subject to some unexpected complications. During a test run sending him to what the scientist thought was an operation with low level security that he should be able to break through, an especially vicious anti-malware program that had gone undetected prior caught onto the Porygon and attacked. This encounter ended up glitching out a few key components of his programming, including the bits that... Told him what the heck he was supposed to be doing. Because of this, he never returned to the scientist.

After experiencing this glitch that left him with missing portions of data, he was left with little other than a portion of the scientist's name -- Toshi//?/ Itoh. With not much else to go off of, he latched onto this small thing and wandered through cyberspace with little purpose other than simply existing. Althought unaware of it, his programming had not lost the purpose of gathering and storing data, and his ventures gained him a plethora of new information. Just... Not the information he was intended to acquire. His programming allowed him to bypass and break through some simple security measures, and while he found nothing substantial anywhere, his glitched programming read his findings as evident of something bigger than him -- bigger than the whole cyberspace, even. In his plight to continue gathering information, he also stumbled into the online world of music. With nothing to stop him from taking in the data on the music he found, it ended up taking over a good portion of his data storage.

With the plethora of things he'd found, Toshi started to venture out of the comfortable cyberspace, intending to continue his data gathering in the real world. As it turned out, these physical experiences were a lot harder for him to take in and manage than a bunch of code and virtual data. For a Pokemon who had found meaning to their existence through gathering info, this was pretty frustrating. He took to bothering Pokemon after Pokemon looking for a solution, until he ended up encountering one who informed him about dittech technology, which he decided was exactly what he was looking for. There was just one issue -- PMA-Co, from what he took away from the conversation, was exactly the type of organization that he couldn't trust. They were too big! Too in control! They would be watching his every move, and he couldn't have that.

Toshi took to cyberspace once more, combing through areas that humans would never think to look or find until he finally found his way to Apellon -- more physically than anybody would have liked. In Lumiose, one Apellon technician by the name of Cody was the unlucky receiver of a slightly glitched Porygon in his computer who refused to relinquish it until given a dittech. Once his demand was met (a lot easier than he was expecting. What do you mean he didn't need to hold a computer hostage?), he was the proud new owner of a human body -- and upon learning that Cody was also a Porygon, Toshi declared himself to also be the proud discoverer of his long lost twin brother, much to the technician's dismay.

Following the acquisition of his dittech, Toshi was able to learn from a more organic point of view, despite still having a limited capacity for real empathetic understanding. He grew to properly appreciate music more, and even began to create his own now that he had the means to do so. His suspicions of an entity he simply reffers to as 'The Man' only grew as he was able to actually participate in online discussion boards, as well. Both of these things spurred him into creating his own podcast that touches on both interests, which has something of a cult following, though it is starting to grow in popularity. Aside from that, to repay Apellon for assisting in his escape from whatever capitalistic hell he's sure PMA-Co would have pulled him into, he offers his services for spying through cyberspace and... Er. Blowing up computers from the inside out, mostly.

Relationships:

Cody - Toshi's favorite brother! According to Toshi, anyway. Despite his insistence otherwise, the two aren't actually related...

Extras:

- The scientist who created Toshi referred to him as Wave001. This is where Toshi gets the end of his pseudonym, though he isn't actually aware of it.
- Toshi's mildly glitched programming occasionally causes visual distortions and static when in his Pokemon form, as well as occasional erratic movement. There are also some missing portions of his initial programming.
- In human form, this carries over as verbal tics (mostly an occasional twitchy stutter), broad hand gestures and body language, less than perfect eyesight, and mild issues with short term memory.
- He has an unbreakable habit of chewing his lips that leaves them constantly chapped and bloody. This is why he almost always has some sort of face mask on.
- His Pokegotchi is his baby. Please don't hurt her.
