Personality:

When he wants to be, Danny is something of a smooth talker, quick to find the words people want to hear in order to get what he wants out of the exchange. When he isn't trying, though, his 'smooth' demeanor can come across as more sleazy than anything, from using petnames even when they very clearly aren't wanted to simply saying some bluntly assholeish things. He has a tendency to act flirtatious even when he isn't particularly interested, and he has no trouble telling people as much if they try to reciprocate. Banter is banter is banter, y'know? Building off this, Danny tends to go about things in a somewhat underhanded way if he thinks it will work out in his favor, all the while masking it as simply liking to have fun -- which isn't really wrong. He's a notorious partier, and he generally manages to come across as not having any especially malicious intentions despite himself, partly due to his apparent lack of commitment to both people and things.

His generally lax way of going about things doesn't carry over to his profession, however. 'Work first, play later' is something he stands by strongly, and he is far from above using threats to avoid these problems, and followng through with said threats if these problems occur -- and he can be a bit cruel with how he goes about it, whether that means physical harm, threatening loved ones, or anything else he can think of, with little concern for the moral implications or consequences so long as it gets the job done. Of course, this level of cruelty is only applied when in relation to work. Danny takes his work seriously, and expects people that work for or with him to do the same. He's not exactly keen on getting arrested, after all, and doesn't take kindly to people shirking their work or to being shorted by anyone involved. If they don't want to deal with the consequences, then they should find something else to do.

In the some vein, Danny values professional relationships and connections. They're vital to what he does, and he does his best to make and maintain them with a hint of casualty to keep things running smoothly without making things too personal. Business is business, after all, and he makes sure not to forget that.

History:

Danny was never a wild Pokemon, instead bred in captivity and given to a young trainer by her parents as her first Pokemon to start her journey as a trainer with. Being her first and, for a while, her only Pokemon as she left home and began her journey through the Johto region, Danny and his trainer were of course very close. Even as she caught and began training other Pokemon, her trusty Houndour was still her go to companion and her strongest Pokemon! The two of them were together for a number of years, during which he evolved into a Houndoom thanks to the girl's careful training. As far as he was concerned, the two of them were going to be companions til the end.

But things didn't quite work out that way. As the girl aged, she began to mature in some unfortunate ways, starting to view Pokemon less as her friends and more as fighting tools. He noticed this when she interacted with her other Pokemon, but was convinced it had no bearings on his relationship with her, which is all that really mattered... Even if it was distressful to see her sending off Pokemon he had thought of as friends without a second thought. Unfortunately, there finally came a day when his trainer was presented to opportunity to trade her Houndoom in exchange for a Pokemon she thought was stronger -- and she took it.

Now in the possession of an unfamiliar trainer and forsaken by his old one, his attitude quickly soured. He continuously acted out against his new trainer, and was eventually released because of his unwillingness to cooperate. At the time he was released, he and his new trainer were in Kalos; it wasn't an area he was familiar with, but he made the best of it. Having been in the possession of a trainer for so long, he had no issues when it came to defending himself against wild Pokemon and other trainers that looked to try and capture him -- not that many wanted to, given how aggressive he was towards people he encountered.

Eventually, he found himself in Lumiose. Wandering around the city, people were less keen on catching him and more interested in just interacting -- he took advantage of this, cozying up to people in exchange for food and attention when he wanted it, and retreating back into alleys and other secluded places when he didn't. The city life was easy for him, and he adjusted to it quickly. After having been living there for a good while, he finally came across the existence of the dittech. With his knack for acquiring things from others, he was able to learn more about the dittech and those who provided them, and eventually talked his way into one from Apellon.

From there, Danny had a relatively easy time adjusting to human life. He'd been around humans for as long as he could remember, and even when he didn't know things, he picked them up quickly. Newly connected to Apellon, Danny was careful with himself, generally doing as told and starting out as a simple errand boy himself. As time went on, his quick tongue and overall work ethic eventually acquired him his current occupation of overseeing and organizing these deliveries, as he was able to secure and collaborate effective methods and routes for transportation in and out of Lumiose.

Relationships:

Neil Zimmerman - Danny has a soft spot for Neil, even if it's pretty hard to tell. He rescued Neil from an attack in a Lumiose alleyway, and then gave the young Growlithe his dittech and helped him learn how to live as a human. Neil used to make deliveries for Danny, but has since stopped. Danny still lets Neil stay with him in Lumiose when he wants to, though it seems Neil's been staying mostly on the Isle now...

Extras:

- Can you spell Commitment Issues?
- Smokes fairly often.
- A fan of one night stands.
- A competent fighter, both in human and Pokemon form, but you'd be hard pressed to find him participating anywhere like the fight pits.
- Quick to say yes to people in a position above him -- whatever keeps him employed, y'know?
- Zorutech: Eyecolor -- uses it to change his red eyes to a dark gray, mostly to seem more unassuming.
