Description Well sometimes it only takes a little prod and I run off painting something that never crossed my mind before. Like a young Severus Snape with his imaginary pet. Sorry for all the other stuff that got postphoned again.

If you go to full view you might discover something hidden/written iterally on the margin

Possibly I'll still shade the hands a bit more, I'm not sure however. Tesla is Little Snape's imaginary pet quetzalcoatl...

Ah yes, for complaints go to I didn't mean to paint it. She made me do it, feee! I smell sorcery in the air.

30x40cm, watercolours, what else did you expect?

Quetzalcoatl + Snape = too cool!

Wow, I love so many things about thins painting- the exacting watercolor style, the fab border, the way Snape's robes seem to be melting into the border, the eyes, the lips, the nose...did I mention the eyes?

I never imagined Severus to be quite this beautiful before, even when he was young, but it really works in your picture. He's almost as handsome as I imagine teenage Sirius to be, and that is saying something.

Ah, nun vermischst du deine klassischen Rahmen mit deinen neuen Verlaufspielen . SchΓΆnes Bild, gefΓ€llt mir. Interessantes Haustierchen.

He looks so innocent. I wonder what happened to him later on. Sure would make a nice novel too, to find out about his childhood etc. And we still haven't learnt if he's good or bad. I used to think if Dumbledore trusts him, there has to be something to it. But the latest novel makes it even more difficult to stick to this assessment...
Anyway, nice painting. I sure would love to have his pet.

I don't think the hands in themselves are that bad, it's more the arms, the don't seem to be in the right position. The hands as such are ok, but they don't go very well with the rest of the body. I mean I can't draw anything myself, but from an anatomic point of view, something seems to be wrong. His right hand should probably have been further down towards the bottom of the painting (bending it up like that must hurt). And the other one, it probably would look better if it was a bit more in the middle and the arm was slightly tilted instead of totally vertical. But that's just guesses

As for his loyalties, that one is answered for me. I joined this group even He is NOT a coward.

I think Severus and pet don't really mix, but this one is imaginary only... so I guess that is okay.

Thank you for the assement of the arms and hands and where they are supposed to be. For this painting it is obviously to late but I promise to pay more attention in the next one. I'm no good with hands, so I need to practice more. Thanks again for taking the time trying to figure out what is wrong with the hands

Lol I see. I guess there must have been some reason for Dumbledore's trust in Snape. Otherwise, he'd look pretty dumb. Being warned and asked about it several times, and still trusting Snape. If he had betrayed him nonetheless, we'd have to come to the conclusion that Dumbledore hadn't been all that wise and powerful after all.
In any case, I can't wait for the last book to be published.

You're welcome. Maybe you could try out the position of the hands in front of a mirror next time for reference. If it feels unnatural/hurts, it probably won't look that natural in the painting either

I've a thing for villians of the dark sort. So I just have to believe in Snape Can you look dumb when you're dead as a doornail : I never was such a huge fan of Dumbledore, I adore his idea of a few words, but other than that... just a neccesairy character for the story to be told...

Picture me doing Shiva imitations in front of the mirror next time...

I wasn't a huge fan of him either, but he was an important figure for Harry, I suppose. And they always pointed out how much Hogwarts depended on him for protection etc etc.
Anyway, I wonder if she's going to let Harry die in the last one.

Please take a photo when you do so

It would be brave to to so. But then Voldemort would suvuive according to the prohecy. Maybe Harry will marry Snape, Hermione will teach in wizarding Oxfords an Lupin is going to have puppies? Well unlikely...

Certainly not :-\

I think the "problem" is thatI change tastes in paintings every few months. The format and techniques are the only real constants, I'm afraid. That tends to turn constant attention away.
But thanks.
