This is my entry for *Equinus 's contest. I worked forever on this, and I'm really slipping at the last possible second. I hope you like him!

Full Name - Capricio (Cuh-priss-ee-oh)
Nickname - Capro (Cap-row)
Breed - Unknown (hints of mustang; muscular legs, andalusian; sligthly roman nose, and warmblood; strong back)
Height - 16.1hh
Color - mostly dun, but has a flaxen, almost white mane and tail.
Markings - He has a brown blaze, with a diamond-shaped star. His legs have brown points. The socks are dominant over the points, and he has ermines. The ermines dictate where the stripes on his hooves are. Dorsal stripe.
Personality - To balance out Cora's sweet and loving nature, Capricio is laid back and more easy-going. He doesn't outwardly show affection or a great deal of feeling, but when out of the public eye, his affection wins him over.

Despite his laid-back nature, if anything is to happen that endangers his loved ones, he'll defy his stoic silence and protect the ones valuable to him. He's simply the oppistite of Cora, and he rounds out her personality with a cool, confident nature and a strong arm to seek shelter in.
History - Carpicio started life as any normal colt, frisking and winding his way through tall grasses. His father was a warrior in the herd, and instilled a sense of pride and respect in the boy early on. He understood good values from a very early age; do whatever it takes to protect those who need you. Through a rather military lifestyle, he was trained to be stoic and silent most of the time, and he grew into a honest, hardworking horse.

The days in his herd with him so rapidly growing stronger weren't meant to last, and he was cast out soon after he turned two. He was almost at full height, his sotcky frame filling out with bunches of thick muscle. The seasons were kind to the bachelors that year, and he grew into an impressive stallion by the following spring.

His talent for fending off predators was soon recognized by an elder band stallion, and we was admitted into the rather large herd on the grounds that he could have one mare of his choosing in return for his services. Naturally, he accepted, and soon, he found a genlte mare with bright eyes and a young heart. But the peace that the valley enjoyed was not meant to last, and soon the herd that resided in the mountains moved closer to the fellow herd until a spark ignited a ferocious fight.

Capricio forged into battle, not thinking twice about himself. The old stallion stayed close behind, and Capro fought off horse after horse until the band leader decided to take him on himself. The final leg was fought on their hanuches alone, and as the taller, heavier stallion unbalanced the young fighter, he came crashing down upon the old leader with bone-crunching force.

He was dead.

At the mere sight of the crushed frail body of the aged horse, he fled with a restless heart, his mind plauged with the thought of his actions taking another horse's life. It was a long, cold, three years spent high in the mountains that further drove him to silence and solitude, but the gradual overtake of bachelor land by herds was enought to drive him down from the ridges...

right into the other herds. There, he saw many different horses, but one stood out from the rest for him, a lovely lavender-hued mare with soft eyes and kind words. He was callused and onery, and his sheilded heart was not easily melted. It was a long time before he found himself so in love that he dared enter the herd. But once, he did...

I will have a full-body reference of him ready soon if he wins, and I'll probably modify him a bit and keep him for myself if he doesn't.

I had to a little research before I decided on his color, because I wanted him to completely compliment Cora's mind and body. The complementary color of purple is a nice, soft, yellow, and so I chose a dusty dun for him. I kept a light mane, but i darkened his points to give him a more masculine look.
