A whistle blew and the crowd cheered quietly, tired and impatient of the hot summer sun.

She ran. She leaped. She danced against the flaming ground. Burning gases licked at her bare feet as she twirled and swept across the surface of a shining star.
Tennis was so long ago now. But it couldn't compare to this.

a voice echoed down to her.

She knew what was coming next. She was excited to be seeing people again after so long.
