summary: AU - None believed that the hate-filled words of a little girl could still live on after more then 200 years, but when strange events start occurring in London the city's only hope of survival lies with one mouse ... and a rat?
Rejoice, GMD friends, I have returned with chapter 13 on the 13th of August ... and made daring experiments with water and light just because I like blue ._.
Personally, I'm having mixed feelings for this update for Whispers in the Dark. On the one hand, I am pleased with the art
. On the other ... I am nervous about the chapter itself 
I KNOW it could have been better ... but I gt stuck and feel like I totality butchered Ratigan's character... But I didn't mean to! Honestly!But now ... time for sleep

This is very well done. it looks like it could be a screen shot from american tail. the detail and the expression is well portrayed and it makes the viewer more interested in what is really going on. the title is also well done, althogh the word 'dark' is too dark. the water doesn't look cheesy fake and the bubbles are a really cool touch. One thing you need to remember, however, is that in water, even dark water, things, such as legs, don't abruptly disappear. particularlly when the head and torso are in focus and clear.
Again, i really like this overall, and it's very well done.

I think this is one of my favorite pictures of your Lady Basil. She looks so cute and I want to save her. The colors are FANTASTIC and this scarf is back! Huzzah! I really love this story (it was one of the first GMD fics I ever read and remains one of the best) and I hope to see more soon! ^^

This is beyond awesome, Jessi! I once had a horrible nightmare of drowning, it turned out to be something far more serious and traumatic to me. Anyway, the effects here make it seem like Basil really is drowning and gasping to reach the surface. Beautiful work all over.

I must admit I have no idea how the idea came to me ... but I'm glad that it did :3 I missed working with blue and such a scene was a beautiful excuse to change my color pallet 
I have a feeling I may be having a bit too much fun with this though ...

Contrats on a beautiful picture! I really love the colors and shadows with the water. Basil's expression is open and vulnerable--also kinda cute XD! This pic really captures the moment well and hey bubbles are always a fun plus (yeah, kinda random there).
If you're really unhappy with the chapter you can always rewrite it later, don't be so hard on yourself! That said I shall now go forth and read XD!

The re-writing part is always a good solution ... but I don't think I have it in me to re-write this AGAIN (yes ... this be my 3th or so attempt ... talk about being a perfectionist XD ) but I just might compensate with the next one ... Who knows

Anyways, a re-write at the moment might not be needed but depending on how you feel later and depending on where the story is going--you may want to (even though you did 3 times!). I feel your pain about being a perfectionist, I used to do a little fanfic here and there but I kept going over it so much that it just wasn't worth it anymore and I took mostly all of them off. Its sad but I found that I'm just not that much of a writer and I never felt like I could get across what I wanted--not like I can with art.

Anyway, back to the picture. Might sound weird, but Basil looks somehow really cute here. You captured this moment perfect! I like the picture a LOT! The colours and shadows are beautiful, just like Basils face... It has something... soft... in it. I mean, it's not a typical Basil-moment, one eye raised, or whatever, just something... "new"... Anyway! Great picture and very interesting chapter!
