I'd like to use you for my artist research for my GCSE art if that's okay. It means I will need to draw responses to your sculptures and borrow some elements that you use in your style for my final piece. It's a mock exam and I'm searching for surrealist sculptors. I only have Dali's work so far and the topic is "fusion", relating to fusing different medias or fusing different elements together, as you've done with these pots by making them seem as if they are walking on legs. Responses to your images won't be posted online and the only thing I MIGHT post is my final piece, with elements inspired from all my chosen artists, but my own work and with some of my own ideas.
If this is not okay, I'd like to know some other surrealist artists you know that fuse elements in this way. In fact, whether you are okay with me using it or not I still need a third artist so please let me know.

Hey, sure. I'm flattered that you wish to reference me.
I can help you with other artists infact:
Choi Xoo Ang
( sculptural )
Alexander McQueen hookteeth.tumblr.com/post/5890…
( fusing elements into fashion )
Frederic Fontenoy - Metamorphose
( surreal photography )
Jonty Hurwitz
( Sculptural. You could argue that it's a fusion of the present and percieved delay in time )
Ferruccio Laviani
( glitch furniture. Fusing the real with the digital )
Jin Choi & Thomas Shine
( Electric Pylon design. Fusing the natural with the unnatural )
and unfortunately, I can't for the life of me remember who this artist is.. but here are two pictures of their work: hookteeth.tumblr.com/post/3913…
You could also look to nature for other research. While not intentionally surreal, things like 'The bleeding tooth fungus' ( 1.bp.blogspot.com/-JszgsFqyZ_0… ) monkey orchids ( www.google.co.uk/search?q=bloo… ) and the bloodwood tree ( 2.bp.blogspot.com/-8dAO4XyjK3o… ) look pretty damn surreal when you consider that their main attraction isn't usually associated with their type.
please link me to your final peice when you're done! I'm interested. Good luck :D

Thanks for allowing me, and thanks for the links, these will all be very useful! I need to fill my sketchbook entirely so I'm glad you've taken the time to search for some that you know. You've given me some ideas with mentioning checking out nature for research.
I'll try and remember to take a photograph of it when I'm done. It should be finished sometime in November I think, but definitely before Christmas.

My instant reaction to these is that they'd just start walking off. Very awesome looking, especially with plants inside. It's so fitting... Hmm.

unfortunatly the plants in them wilt within the same day, despite being in the same mud they originally resided in.. I guess it's too small for them or my room conditions are inadequate. I'll try miniscule cacti or something :l shame though, that weed I picked fitted it niceley.
thankyou

These are so great! I love the emotion and character in them. How you do that? How you make little pots have emotion? Amazing...

That's.. hard to explain D: I gave them legs! I made one walk, one sit, and one run. Use everything to it's full potential!
Thankyou :B
