Description
We were only able to visit one of the three or so large temples on the Usa Jingu grounds - this one. We took the far left path up the mountain to these buildings.

By the time we arrived, however, it was already getting late - the last few images were taken with the remaining bit of sunlight before they turned on the lights.

Mid-December, we checked out a car and decided to go to Usa Jingū . It is one of the largest shrines in the area, and one of the most important Shinto shrines dedicated to kami Hachiman in the country. It is a huge complex of many shrines, which we only got to see about a quarter of in our time there. We will be heading back once it gets warmer out (and the colors aren't so drab), and taking many pictures. For now, however, here are some of the pictures from this midwinter shoot.
