I've been so busy with religious projects that I haven't been able to draw or paint a horse in too long now....but one day....when I'm not so driven to earn a living and can relax a little to paint my second love...horses...

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that you stopped by my painting. Oh yes, I have loved horses all my life and racehorses are very dear to me. I've been blessed to work for a beautiful family and my boss is someone I deeply respect and cheer on! We have a large property two hours South of Sydney right near a mountain here in Australia. It's the most beautiful place to work everyday. We had a smoking racing season last year, this year has been painful though due to the almost constant rainfall. Our horses are not very suitable for wet tracks I'm afraid.

Oh wow that's really neat. It's always such a blessing when you get to work for an amazing boss. I was an exercise rider at the track one year and it was one of the best opportunities and experiences I've ever had. I've never been to Australia but I've always pictured it as being a very dry place lol. I bet it's really beautiful though. You should paint a racing picture; I'm sure it would look amazing in your style.

Thank you! I'm so happy you stopped by. I'm enjoying every minute of this series whether it's searching for images to sketching and then painting. I love dynamics, energy, portraying the more raw power of horses. I guess I havea thing for portraying them in a less polished way lol.
Impasto is amazing isn't it? It allows me to convery movement and energy far better than anything else.

$1500 at this size to begin exhibiting in galleries is a good starting price. It's not expensive by art prices in this country, in fact it's quite reasonable to say the least. I'm the kind of person who finds it very uncomfortable to charge too much money for my work. Many artists try to correct me on that but it's just the way I am. Once the works are in galleries and are sold then the prices will go up as per popularity of my work so it will no longer be in my hands but the hands of the gallery curators.

To date I've been selling my work and getting commissions myself. I have the opportunity to exhibit my work in galleries and have decided to take it.

u have acualy sold art work for that much. well here in America art like that would be sold if even this much for 10-20$ unlesss u died people wouldnt buy it for that much. i just want to know u even like horses

Yes I easily sell art at that price and I know artists from America who sell work like this, fine art, for more. I know this because I know artists in America. It depends on what medium used, skill level, originality, size, so on and so on.
I've been with horses since I was a child. I've worked with them and rode my own horses as well as trained show horses for other people. I also work with racehorses because I love being with them every cingle day. Yes, I love horses and know their personalities and their temperaments very well
