I never saw the Jean Cocteau version of Beauty and the Beast, but the way you described it...I'm very eager to see it!

How perfect! And I hear that Disney's version was based more on Jean Cocteau's film then the original novel

I've been wanting to mix Cocteau with Disney as I love both versions. Fantastic work you've done here.

Thank you and yup, Cocteau's version is amazing. Considering his budget and the time it was made, it just blows Disney out of water.

It really does. It captures all of the mystery and well, horror of the story. It's one of the only films I feel can appropriately be called "enchanting."
I also appreciate the fact that it was made immediately after the war ended in France, and Cocteau decided that, unlike every other filmmaker, who were making things about the war, he wanted to make a pure, beautiful fantasy because that's what people really needed.

Yay! Someone else who did this!
I love the Jean Cocteau version too (although I do have some issues with the ending). I love the expressions you made, especially how Belle looks a little like Josette Day.

The Disney version and Jean Cocteau's film are my all-time favorite versions of the tale, and you combined them beautifully. ^ ^
