Description
Done in the same style as the last one, its Luffy's hat. Its not suppoused to be a sad picture, btw. Just in case anyone is thinking 'aaaah, she drowned Luffy!'Light aqua and cream prismacolor pencil and .5 mechanical pencil over tria and prismacolor markers, over pencil sketch. I'm having fun with this style, as a bit of a change of pace.

This picture doesn't make the thought "Ah! Luffy died/drowned/etc" come across my mind.
Instead, it gives me a peaceful feeling. Like those moments when Luffy plays with his friends at the shore and accidently dropped his hat in the ocean. Luffy should be coming right about now to pick up his hat. : D
Loving this picture. Gives me a nice feeling and portrays the free and refreshing life of a pirate in One Piece.

what different art classes are you taking?
I am taking printmaking relief this quarter and it is soo different than just painting or drawing. It makes me be graphic and less realistic....and more abstract

just drawing and design . . . just finished drawing 2 and 3-D design. Next semester is digital photography and computer graphics

I am thinking about taking a computer graphics class this summer at another college, because they are renovating our art wing....so all the classes are at really weird times and either outside or in some random room not in the art building. Like advanced painting is an 8 hour class on mon, tues, wed, thurs, fri for 3 weeks. *its usually 8:30-12 mon, tues, wed, thurs for 5 weeks* Or they are at 5:30 to 9 pm >.> Dang renovation messed my whole plan on what classes I would take next year. What are classes are you taking now? Uber advanced classes yet?

Lesse, next semester I'm taking illustration 1, painting 1 (oils), and ceramics (yuck) But this semester I took illustration 2 and viscom. Lovely how orderly our system is, isn't it (actually I'm just cheating the system)
Yeah, there's an elementary school prettymuch surrounded by campus that got shut down so we are taking over it and some classes will be held there.

I think it might help if I knew nate, but it seems to be a compliment. I really do try. (if it makes you feel better, it was a mechanical pencil, thats how I got the fine lines) and they're awful nice markers too. But anyway . . . . gotta go fetch my cat before she steps in wet paint

It makes me think of the wind taking one's hat and going off with it, and then one having to chase it down. If the colors of the water and sand was "mean" then I would get a dark feeling (as if the person chasing the hat was angry or annoyed), but as it is light, I get a cheerful feeling (as if the person chasing is laughing hard enough to fall over while running). I love this

I really wanted it to be peaceful. I thought about what it means to be a pirate, and free on the ocean. And, being as I obviously live nowhere near the beach, I think of the sound of the waves and the smell of salt and a gentle calmness on warm afternoons.
