You found an awesome angle. The sharpness gradient is very well done.

Thanks!
I didn't have much of a choice in that matter, I was helping some of the guys pull security.

i love perspective like this - the detail at the front with his legs & drawing the eye into the whole shot, blurry background. Love it

All the women and the men that work in any Armed Forces and expecially work so far away from their homes to help and care the helpless people have got all my respect from the depths of my heart.

A beautiful shot that witness noble deeds and action.

God bless you all.

We were lucky that this was a relatively safe area. Only bad thing was the birds landing off-mark. xD

I don't know about photography but I like the perspective of this picture, the point of view. Makes me feel like I'm there too, with the other soldiers, in danger, crouching or being down on the floor to have more cover.
And the colors that they have low saturation, that emphases the mood for me more.

I honestly don't know what to think when I see this photo.
Damn he's carrying a lot of huge ammo....
Depth of field is a little confusing along with the cropping or composition of the subject.
Yes it's an interesting photo, but I feel a little lost when I look at it.
Art is emotion, so I guess if a feeling of lost was what you were going for, then well done.

It wasn't a planned shot at all, so thanks for the feedback!
Truthfully, I was clicking away as the Command Sgt. Major was checking on his guys while we were all pulling security. >.>

Okay one gear question I have. What's with the 40mm grenade belt? I see a lot of them. How are those secure? They look like the grenades are about to fall out the bottom.

I don't know anything about the 40mm belts since I didn't have a 203 on my rifle, but the belts seem pretty secure. The boys have done all kinds of craziness without the grenades popping out. I'm guessing there's some form of rubber on the inside of the loops gripping the butts of them.

Can't really say it any better than the guy above me; the perspective makes this photo, as well as the rule of two thirds (I at least see it here). Yet another download for my personal military photo collection.
