I read the book last summer and finally got to watch the film last night. Absolutely LOVE it.

yeah i love them both, though i think it's best to see the film first because it deviates so much from the book's plot. i recently read 'A Wolf at the Table' which is another memoir, also amazing!

I actually didn't read the book, bit I watched a movie!! AND I LOVED IT! My favorite part was when Dr. Finch says "Scream Deirdre! Scream! Express your pain!" that whole scene

holy shit buckets batman! THAT'S MY FAVOURITE BIT TOO! it made me cry the first time i watched it, with Agnes in the car!
It sucks once you read the book though because The mother's character is actually two characters in the book!

YES!
I thought you would say something like "the movie is so shitty...it's nothing like the book!".
First time I watched the movie,I didn't know nothing about it...I just played it AND i WAS AMAZED!! I like weird movies...especially when they carry such a strong emotion and message!

nah, it's good to read the book because there are some dramatic differances (like Natalie being fat!) but other than the the general feeling of abandonment and frustration is there. and the book's a really easy read!
the emotion in both pieces are amazing!
