Rusalka

My strange version of a Plot Journal - only a little more visual (I'm a visual learner and its easier to see her crazy route this way).

Profile Possibly Relevant to Plot

Name: Rusalka
Call name: Rue. Sometimes 'Selkie'
Age: 4
Height: 9.1hh (37")

Backstory: Born in one of the birthing grounds to a liver chestnut doe who was part of the main herd. Her mother waited until she could run and then left. They joined a splinter group that are nomads, moving around the Kingdom frequently and Rue became an independent youngster with a wild heart, a part of which longs to venture further than the boundaries she's always known.

Other: Raised in a splinter herd alongside only a few other fawns and was always close to her mother growing up. She's aware that her mum has an untold past, and when she receives her bauble in proof of this, it becomes the catalyst to her adventure. Though not good company for most fawns, she's on good terms with the animals and other creatures in the Kingdom, and has solid friends in a few of them.

Species: Avian. Faerie Wren: Purple Crowned
Gender: Male
Size: 13.5cm (6cm excluding tail)

Circles on it imply the dangers/hazards encountered. More will be added as needed - main ones have been placed if I know they will occur.
Exclamation points are were Rue learns something that pertains to her quest - ie, something about her heirloom, mother's past, her bloodline etc.
The small sketches here and there are random thoughts or 'icons' for happenings: A cave entrance, a mountain lion, a magic herb, a raging stag and an acorn and Oak leaf. More will be added as needed.

Notes
(Clockwise from Windborne)

1. Any RP's planned or not yet planned with fawnlings on Windborne aren't likely to happen during Rue's main story. Living with a nomadic herd, she's explored most of the Kingdom already and she would have or can meet with native fawns after her journey's over or in her past, before it began. Alternately, they can be for fun and not fit into the canon Isles story at all.

2. In places, Rue's route follows alongside rivers or beaches. This is partly for orientation, as it provides some directionality, based on flow, and also to be sure she's always near a source of water.

3. Alkhana, Rue's mother, has told her stories all her life and shared what she knows about the other Kingdoms. Rue's been warned that Blackwood is a treacherous place and to avoid it if she can, but always be careful if she can't. Only some kind of ambush or scare near its border that prevented her route out to the East would push her to cross the middle of the territory. Since only fawnlings live there, really - its probably one of them, but no solid plans yet.

4. It was originally intended that this journey would take a year, leaving roughly a season in each Kingdom (excluding Windborne). Due to many factors, this is likely to change.

Want to feature in her adventure?

Due to the nature of her story, there aren't really opportunities for prolonged role plays. Many of them are likely to be one off collabs as she passes through new territory.

Rue isn't confrontational and is really the last doe to get into a scrap with anyone; she relies on her spead and agility if threatened, and simply outruns attackers, using stealth skills and quick thinking to hide if need be. So sparring is possible, but fights aren't really likely. She's also not looking for a mate in any way and likes her space, so any stags who try to get too close are liable to be kicked and left in the dust. But she does have a sense of humour and is playful, so some amount of teasing and innuendo with a stag she knows isn't out of the question.

SO - other than fights or potential mates, if you have a fawnling and would like to cross paths with her I'm open to pretty much any other scenario. By all means leave a comment here, note me or heck - ask/tell me anywhere if you're struck by inspiration.

Extra Notes

- Cully, her best friend, is quite protective of her (and often doesn't consider himself to be such a tiny bird). He will occasionally fly on ahead if he feels brave enough to see what they might come up against.

- Natural/inborn ability to sense direction and location using the wind and smells in it, means Rue doesn't get lost too easily. Even through the Oakfern cave system (to some extent) she can navigate without error when there's a draft.

- Mother told her how to recognise Blackwood territory on sight, by the denser wood surrounded by the mountain ranges. She was warned about the nature of the Kingdom, too, so will be very wary with anyone she happens across there on instinct.

- Sévérine set up a guard duty on Blackwood borders, so Rue somehow (?) manages to sneak past them, possibly without realising, if she's panicked, to end up crossing the territory to begin with.

- Has a slight fear/wariness of fire after stories of what happened to The Burns in Windborne. Being around Pyrokinetic fawnlings in Silverthorne isn't likely to be reassuring.
