I like the human version more so, but the avian version is alluring too.

I think I got a slightly curvier body on the avian version.

How about a variant were she has a short cape based off of a feather design. Like Dove from DC Comics.

A cape would interfere with her quiver. Gotta keep her back uncovered for the quiver and bow (when not in hand). Think more "Green Arrow".

If I remember correctly..Green Arrow has a female sidekick that wears a hood/cloak (Mia I think is her name). As with the cape, more of a variant idea to the main one. Heck, if it's raining...Sparrow might want to try and stay dry..lol.

I actually don't know that character. I know Green Arrow's original Sidekick, Speedy.

I think part of the reason the Beak is giving you fits might be solved if you consider her jaw. Most critter jaws are fairly straight from the corners to the tip. So if her beak portion goes halfway from tip to corner in profile, it probably should show as halfway from center to the corners of her jaw straight on.
One of the biggest problems I see in Furry art is that people treat cheek ruffs like they're some kind of solid structure. Okay, that's not really an issue here, but something I wanted to get off my chest. But it does lead to artists making critters with narrow muzzles attached to wide jaws in a way that structurally doesn't work.

Rats.
I'm talking skeletal structure. Think about the shape of a jawbone. Just the jawbone. Mentally turn it around in your head.
Basically the beak looks too narrow in the front view compared to how far back it comes in the side view.

Okay, that I can follow. I thought you were talking how far "forward" it set in the profile shots, and was getting all messed up.

Heh, an example of my frustration at only being able to communicate my visual ideas through words. Even if I write something strikingly visual, it still pales in comparison to what I see in my head.

That's the hazard I have as an artist. I can NEVER get on paper anything that even remotely compares to what I see in my head.

So, I notice most of your characters have both human and furry versions. Is there some kind of dimensional rift thing going on that causes them to shift back and forth? Or just alternate universes on the edge of one another?

TCPolecat7 In reply to darth603 [2011-01-10 22:18:52 +0000 UTC]
I actually don't have many with a human and a Furry version. Tasha does, of course, but that's my "persona' character, and she actually has the tech to alter her form as she wishes. For Sparrow, it's just neighboring universes.

theres no reson to limit yourself who knows where the crazyness of the heroic world will lead theres a ton of worlds in the multiverse and this proberbly exsists in a few of them and may even cross over into both meeting in the future/past because of some event ^^

TCPolecat7 In reply to grimmhelm [2011-01-10 22:20:24 +0000 UTC]
I don't know about future/past (Batman Beyond this isn't), but like most heroes, I wager there's copies through the multiverse of them all. Hell, DC comics likes the posit that quite often....

Mmm, well it would make sense for the mask to be differently shaped if it's an entirely different face and she's live all her life with it in this dimension.
