Description A very happy holiday to everyone at dA!

(Omg it's Leland and Claris again! Wearing pretty outfits! I love my adorable medieval vampires and have never stopped loving them, just felt like giving them a break for a bit. I really wanted to do a wintery, possibly fluffy, picture of them, since I apparently was really into this idea of blood wassail. O_o But really, it was an excuse to draw a giant gold cup, and some lovely red and green flowy medieval robes and cloaks, and yay. Christmas and all that. )

Much joy and happiness to all of you this holiday season, whether you do Christmas, or Yule, or Hanukkah, or anything else, or even all at once! Thank you to everyone who's faved, commented or watched over the last year- I guarantee that I read, love and appreciate everything, even if I don't always have time to reply. YEEESSSS I SOOOO missed these guys!! Somehow their depiction looks more medieval than ever, I think it's the shape of their faces and a certain quality of the linework... By the way, the painting looks absolutely great! It looks traditional, especially like watercolour, with that texture! I'm really curious how you did it. o.o

Happy holidays to you too! I have a question out of curiosity; what does Waes Hael stand for?
When I saw this, I was like 'aww, such a lovely couple, together in the snow, sharing a cup of...a cup of....' They do look adorable though. And those coats look so fluffy, warm and comfortable! I want one!

"Waes hael" is a Middle English toast that means "be in good health". The modern word "wassail" is derived from it. :3
And hehe, thank you! I'm glad they look adorable in spite of the... um. Yes. When I showed this to Alan, he said in the Claris-voice "Oh Leland, do you remember those orphans we saw the other night, cold and shivering in the snow? Well, they're not suffering any longer! Happy Christmas!" I kid, I kid. They wouldn't just take a bunch of orphans and use them for food. They'd ask PERMISSION first, because they're nice like that. Seriously though, no eating children. That's just unsavory for all involved.

Aha! I thought it would be something like that.
Oh no! Poor orphans! Haha, I can't help but smile as I try to imagine a vampire asking permission before drinking somebody's blood. It would make them a lot less frightening when met in a dark alley.

Oh joy, thank you! I'm glad you like the outfits, the fur was totally inspired by one of *Dwenda 's drawings of these guys. It ended up being an awesome touch. :3

Hehe, yes! Thank you! I'm so glad to hear they inspired you. :3 They're so much fun to draw AND write! I love my new guys, but all my characters have special places in my heart, and my spot for these ones is... capacious and exceptional, to say the least.
