Description I was originally going to draw Slagar for the first fox character in the series, but last month Mokkan was suggested to me as a character to draw, and since Marlfox was the first Redwall book I ever read, I figured why not? I’ll draw him first instead.

I still have a few species to go that I haven’t drawn yet, like shrews, but once they’re done I’ll start repeating species again. Enjoy!

Mokkan was an interesting fellow, as were all Marlfox, that book was ace.

It was the very first Redwall book I read - it got me into the series so that counts for something.

I started with the first book Redwall, so Cluny will always be my top villan and character of the entire series. However The Marlfox had me very interested everything about it was a fresh change.

Magnificent!  Although going by his aggressive expression, I would have guessed he was Gelltor, because Mokkan was more calm, collected and sinister. Either way, you did wonderful with this drawing! He looks strong, agile and powerful, not to mention handsome and regal (in a rugged sort of way). Plus, I love the design you gave his ax. Obviously a tribute to the book cover.

 

Also, I didn't know "Marlfox" was the first Redwall book you read? Btw, books have you read?

Ah really? Damn. This is the kind of thing that makes me afraid to do Redwall fanart sometimes - drawing a character in a way they're not supposed to be represented.

I've read Marlfox, Taggerung, Martin the Warrior, Mossflower, Redwall, Triss, Mattimeo and Outcast of Redwall. I've also read part of Loamhedge and Lord Brocktree, but I didn't end up finishing them due to being distracted/busy with other things.

Hey, don't worry about it! In fact, there were plenty of scenes in the book where Mokkan got snarly during fights. So I'd say you represented him just fine!

 

So you've read 8 and half of two. Heh, and there are 22 books in the whole series! You've got some serious reading ahead of you.

 

Kind've ironic that you should only be halfway done with Lord Brocktree, because I was thinking of suggesting certain characters from that book as well.
