This looks pretty good, I think it's worth a try! I kind of want to try something like that too but I doubt I can be pulled away from my usual inking process, though I've been trying to speed it up lately.
My thesis advisor was really big on silhouettes but I really struggle to think of some general advice... She usually said that the more expressive the better, like you try to arrange the legs of the shaggy kid so they are visibly two legs instead of one shape, and turn the (presumably) rat's head the way we can clearly identify the nose and ears - keeping all silhouettes as detailed as possible, more or less.
Though it kind of defeats your purpose of speeding things up and my thesis advisor was pretty cool but really prone to nitpicking. It could be hard to work with her until it got closer to the deadline so she was forced to accept the fact that something is not entirely perfect. I swear I have at least 3 separate fully coloured versions of this illustration lying around somewhere because it was the first big one in the book so there was time for me to redraw it over and over. And by the time it was close to the end we pretty much agreed on sketches and then I would finish several pictures a day. I mean, being able to redraw something without having a fit is a good skill, but everything can be taken too far...

I could feel the seething anger in "I have a lot of passive-aggressive things to say directed at my thesis adviser". It made me giggle. In a very 'I feel your pain' kind of way.
That's some good advice about the silhouettes! Thank you! I don't often do silhouettes and I just imagined what one of my standard drawings would look like and filled in the shapes. Next time I'll try and imagine actors doingΒ tableausΒ behind a screen or something. Really drama-up the poses. I don't think it would take much more time, if any, honestly enough. I'd just need to keep it in mind as I drew.Β

I'll find myself inking the windows of buildings kilometres away, and then realize that once zoomed out (or reduced for the web) you caaaaaaaaaan't actually see the anymore... Ugh...

Looks amazing. Every time I try to do that it comes out as one big mess.

I think this is the first time I've tried this where it HASN'T come out in a blobby mess as well. Luck, perhaps?

Nice, I like how it's almost all silhouettes.

Thanks! And yeah, silhouettes are always fun. So easy... So fast... The comic will now be nothing but silhouettes.Β
