Description Here's another older sculpt (if these older sculpts don't seem to have much relevance, just let me know and I'll stop uploading photos of them).

This was done as part of a test piece, as you can see the artwork provided did not exactly match the final released pieces.

I admit towards the end of this piece I got rather lazy, the left arm and skull could have been far better finalized.

GW Pariah artwork: [link]
Gw Pariah miniature:[link]

Although to be fair to GW, if they had sculpted it exactly as shown in the artwork a huge amount of detail would have been lost in the end result. As such it means I can sculpt fiddly details in my piece and not worry about lose as it won't be cast.

Total height: 32mm
Sculpted in scale with GW necron Pariahs.

i love this and they should bring Pariahs back with the old lore, i hate this new TOMB KING necrons >.< hhaahahha, they coulda brought individuality within the old lore, just like chaos marines, they worship the ctan or are slaves

This is a shame they are no more existing. If they had new sculpt, It may have been awesome.

You did a freaking good job btw. Even if the head doesn't seems finished.

quite nice! i always liked the pariahs fluff, but their battlefield failures kept me from fielding them.

Which is probably why GW binned them.

I could definitely tell this green was based on Alex Boyd's painting. You did a good job conveying the style of the image, and all the details.

Thank you, I think I could do a better version now, but it's something I'd like to leave as I concentrate on other pieces.

Speaking of other pieces, I should have some of your work up soon on the Krox.

Yea, it's best to think forward like that, although reduxing old pieces can be fun sometimes.

Zowee, did you have fun sculpting it?

I have an HD camera, I'd be lying if I said I was tempted but I'd have to shove a mature tag on it as I swear like a docker.

Hi, it is me again;]
Can I ask what you are using for blades? I've seen it few times in many sculpts for blades ,teeth, and similar things.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Build In reply to Karrakash [2012-02-18 12:44:18 +0000 UTC]

I use one of two materials.

Either apoxy sculpt: [link]
Or white milliput: [link]

Apoxy sculpt is more flexible and easier to file into points and edges, white milliput is more rigid though, but stronger and lighter.

Thank you very much

The-Build In reply to Karrakash [2012-02-18 12:51:23 +0000 UTC]

No worries, you can actually see in this piece I have used both. the blade end by the green plastic tube is made from apoxy sculpt and the axe like blade at the other end is made from milliput.

i never saw somebody handling greenstuff like you do!

The-Build In reply to Cyanight [2012-02-18 13:02:46 +0000 UTC]

Tutorials are very difficult, it's near impossible to accurately show how a piece is built up.
