Description
Young Ruth and Theodore get into a heated argument, resulting in them being separated for nearly a decade.
Just me playing around with scene composition and some layer effects.
Trying to work the emotional cues here.

Firstly, well done, it does carry a lot of emotion!
My crits: The hand is placed rather weirdly. Either it shouldn't be sticking out at all (his arm/body would be covering it) or it should be at a different angle, it's just not working for where you appear to have placed the wrist! Maybe show her arm in front of his arm? Or make the bend of her arm more acute and change the angle of the hand slightly.
I'm assuming you left out some of the window panes/frame to amplify the scene because you mention that continuity isn't an issue here.
Is she upset, or is she surprised? Because her expression in the second panel is the latter - she doesn't look upset there, just slightly awe-struck. I'm not going to suggest corrections because I know you're really good at expressions. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="
Also, the back of his head is a bit large for his face, especially when compared to the top panel (complete the line arch in your head and you'll see what I mean).
I hope this was the kind of critty stuff you wanted! Apart from all this blah blah I really do like the scene you've created. It reminds me of the love story of Fitz and Molly in Robin Hobb's Assassin Trology, some of my favourite books of all time. Ever. I found this image on Pinterest a whiiilllleeeee back and I instantly fell in love with it. I finally thought to figure out where it came from/who drew it just yesterday, and so I found you here, and I just wanted to say I am SO IN LOVE WITH THIS STORY AND THE CHARACTERS. I read the first seven chapters on the website last night, and I can't wait to see more of the story!

Nah, I just played around with Layer Modes and Filters 'till it looked alright. The original PSD file is zipped tight on my external hard drive, so I can't tell you exactly what I used.

Something I want to say: I'm somewhat envious of the way you draw hair--you make it look so natural and effortless!!! Do you think you'll ever be able to do a tutorial on that specifically? Perhaps it's an odd request, but I've often struggled with all my character's hair coming out flat and uninteresting, and if you have any sort of advice, it would be much appreciated. *goes back to watch your older Youtube tutorials anyway* (Coz they're awwwwweeessssoooooome.) ^,^

Not so long, maybe ten years, after that dreadful memory i have. My name is Ruth and my past hunts me to date. My best mate Theodore and i were walking from school laughing and talking about our day when some boys, maybe like five or six, came to be mean to us.
"Well, if it isnt the Twiddle Dee and Twittle Dumb." said Max, the leader of the group and the others laughed.
"Listen hear, big face, talk to my friend like that i will make you eat cow dung." said Theodore in a dead toned voice.
I, of course, was scared out of my wits.
"Oh, really? Then take this!" Yelled the other. Theodore ducked but i got hit and was unconscious. Theodore was angry and had hit those boys very mercilessly because i heard they were in the hospital for six month and Theodore in jail for month. When i woke up, Theodore was right beside me sleeping. My jaw still hurt a lot than it really should have but atleast it i didnt die.
"Theodore, wake up. Theo, I'm alive but just." i whispered as i shook him gently. Theodore woke up very glad to see me wide awake. "What happened? i asked, rubbing my jaw.
"Remember those boys that were being awfully mean to us? Well, I put them in their place." Theodore said proudly.
"What did you do?" I asked, fearing the answer i was about to get.
"I punched them real good and they've been in the hospital for weeks on end." He laughed. I didnt think that was funny, i thought that was brute.
"How could you do that?! That was foolish of you to even do that. I thought you intelligent but i can see your nothing but a brute and a fool! YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE CONSTABLE!"
Theodore was silent but said,"I thought what i did was right and for my actions i was send to jail for a month." I was shocked.
"AND will never regret my decision because i..." he paused and looked away. "Never mind. I can see it was all for nothing. good day, Miss Ruth." He left. But i had realize what i had said and went after him.
"THEODORE, WAIT, PLEASE!! DONT GO!! I BEG YOU!!" I grabbed his arm and went to hug him but he resisted.
"LET GO OF ME!" He pushed me and i fell to the floor and Theodore kept on walking and never looked back once. I had whispered to myself, 'I lost him, lost him forever.'
For ten years i never had a good night's rest. Not until one night. I was coming back home from a Saint Helen's college and was walking on my way home when i had unexpected rude welcome. I was walking home when i heard a man speak.
"Well, well, well, if it isnt the little tramp that we beat up ten-a-years, right, boys?" said the man.
"Yeah, Max!" they all yelled.
"No." i whispered. They were the bullies.
"It's been ten-a-years, no, Ruth? Not that your fience isnt here, maybe, you owe us a big sorry." Max said as he came closer to me and i was scared. The next thing i knew i was up against a wall not able to breath. I scream as loud as i could but it was useless. I preyed to be saved but everything went black but the last thing i could hear and feel was a man saying, "leave her be' and being knocked to the floor. After that everything went black.
I found myself on a soft bed in a white night gown that felt so soft and warm. i felt a presence and i was scared and because i was scared i fell out of bed.
"I dont remember you being this clumsy." laughed a voice of a young man. I looked and saw him just smiling and having a plate of food, placing it on the night table.
"Why, I ought to..." i started but was interrupted by the way he was so close to me. i was looking at a face that was so sad but was also happy to see me even thought i never met the young man before. I tried to step back but my feet moved closer and my right hand was lifted to his left arm. Then realized i had seen those sad eyes once before...Long ago, in a dream. A yelled ringed in my ear, " DONT GO!! I BEG YOU!!" Then, without thinking i said, "Theodore?"
He smiled and leaned over and kissed me. I stood there unknowing what to do. After we parted, looked at me and said, "Hey, Ruth, welcome back."
I had tears in my eyes and realized that i was home. i hugged him. I was home. Home At last
