Description Sorry these are so rough. I had to sketch them during 5 to 10 minute study breaks, and I mean come on, the ideas just stream in when your mind is occupied with useless things like studying.

Mostly sketches of Lady Vittoria Valiard, the Mansion's Mistress. Still trying to get a feel for her character. All I know so far is that she's obsessed with her husband and is terrified of water.

Then some Ruth drawings while she's in the Mansion. Just wanted to show she's undeterred despite the creepiness of it all, I guess. Not sure what I was drawing xD

And of course Theodore's up to his own antics in the Mansion, namely saving strange, PG-13 ladies from drowning in the defunct underground sewer system....... it's just an idea.

Nothing else, I guess. Got some more sketches I'll probly upload in another dump during the weekend. Thanks for bearing with my exam-ness, my friends!!!

Yoooo I like Vittoria a lot! Is she by any chance Italian? I noticed you gave her "circled eyes" or um whatever they're called..cause I recently read somewhere it's a feature commonly associated with Italians! I had no idea honestly it's like, idk, a mixture between hearing your own voice and imagining how your language must sound like to other people (oh, I'm Italian. And my name is Maria Vittoria aaaaah)

Aaaaanyway, I'm always impressed at how much personality can shine trough your drawings!
Also Ruth is cuter and cuter.

Thanks so much, that's a huge compliment! I'm just really on the fence about how eccentric I want her to be, and sketching it out always helps to cement a character.

OMG! It DOES look like a mermaid and a sailor! (The bottom sketch) reminds me of Philip and Syrena! I sorta wish you'd drawn Theo saving Ruth tho....but I love everything else!

Hrm, I had to Google Philip and Syrena. It's a Pirates of the Caribbean thing, right? Not sure, the Internet's super shoddy today so not in the mood to sit and wait for everything to load. HAHAHA!

Either way, like I said, I like that it looks mermaidy. I should scribble a fin in there somewhere.

Glad you like when I post dumps, though. Sometimes I feel like I'm just filling up people's Watch feeds arbitrarily. But sketches are really only thing I have time for these days.

I don't know. I'm up for a supplementary exam and I don't know when it takes place. Either on the 24th or 26th June. Not sure.

I think you mentioned you didn't want a Disney feel and I feel that a scene like that the underground sewer system is the way to go. Lol Disney wouldn't dare do that.

Well, I do want to keep the story as inexplicit as possible, so nudity, sex and violence will be kept to a bare minimum. (Bare minimum. Pun intended.) If Disney can have Mulan skinny-dipping with fellow soldiers, I can sneak a nakey-lady in, too. I think it'll be more fun playing the Austin Powers nakey cover-up game that to just draw 'em full-frontal anyways.

I've got some story ideas that will have me treading some fine lines, though. I mean, it IS a ghost story that involves DEATH. There's only SO MUCH child-friendliness I can keep up with.

I dunno. Ambivalence to the max.

lol I just watched Mulan last week and that scene is hilarious.
I like the way you're going and I also like the idea of being sneaky about it and I would aslo recommend the cover up method and not show everything, that may be too much. I can definitely see how death will be involved (I still can't get over Gangfield's mother It was sad to learn that about him.)
You're one of my favorite artists on DA and you're story never disappoints so whatever you feel is right is probably perfect to me lol.

Yeah, Mulan is totally one of my fave animated movies. It's short, sweet and clear. Which is more than I can say for the muddled animated movies we get these days. (I'm looking at yooouuuu, Rise of the Guardians...)

SO CHEESY. SO FREAKING CHEESY. And convoluted. I'm still not 100% sure what each Guardian's powers are and how fear works and how the belief system works and where the HECK Sandy was the whole time... every opportunity to explain was forfeited to the crowd-pleaser ending.
