I did this in math a few weeks ago while I was bored, and I have to say- it turned out rather well for not having a referance.
I have always really liked Kikyo. She not only has a cool character design she has a great 3-D character.
And yes, It dosn't have a face. Alot of the little Fanart sketches I do don't. I have fun trying to emphasis character's facial features. Try it. It's fun.

I draw in math too, and the teacher is usually so absorbed in teaching that she neglects to check to see if we are actually paying attention!
I enjoy the facelessness of this picture. And as Desibu said, it does allow people to be drawn in to the image.
