They always look the best with their wings spread out like that.

something i love about your pictures is that they always make you look twice at them, makes them look like an entirely different animal than what a typical person imagines a bird to look like. Does that make sense? O.o The way the black and white feathers meet on the wings, the fluff of the neck and the way they lay on the birds back just makes you want to do a double take.

Thankyou very much indeed and yes it does make sense, i really appreciate what you have identified in my photography. one thing that never
shows in a shot, is whats behind it, how long it took and what it actually took to get. I allways like to learn from my photography, a good shot
will reveal so much from the subject, like you point out, the different types of feathers reveal so much about there role and purpose. I just try
and do them the justice they deserve.

Many thanks such beautiful birds, im pretty lucky really as these are Australian birds and shouldn't be over here. Im quite gutted really
as the 2 resident birds we have had for the last 3 years have disapeared!!!! just before xmas there was one left then the other one has disapeared
too. I get asked every time im at the res by people where they have gone, not only me seems to miss them.

Perhaps when it froze they headed for the coast - some swans do. Oh people here are very attached to the swans they do not like the geese and ducks so much, but the swans are important to them.
