Description When overcome with the sudden compulsion to look up artwork based on Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado", I remembered that Fortunato wore a jester outfit. Then, thought I, "I too have a character who wears a jester outfit and who is a complete prick!" And so this card was born.

The nice thing is that whether you're familiar with my characters or not, this picture still makes sense.

No, this does not happen in my story, but...he is a jerk who could use a serious time-out.

One of Poe's bests works, portrayed by a very talented artist, bravo.

Hmmm haven't read the story, but based on what little I know of these two characters, this makes me snicker.

And I like the "oh snap" look on the victim's face.

I always did like that story by Poe. I did a presentation on it. (It impressed the girl in class I had a crush on at the time, AND I got an A.)

It's extremely uncharacteristic of him, but I'm pretty sure the idea has come to mind once or twice.

Maybe he knew Fortunato for a long time and finally got so fed up with him. They might've been roommates at one point and Fortunato kept leaving the icebox open or never emptied the chamber pot.

The "thousand injuries" he bore were how many times Fortunato left the toilet seat up. Dang, Montresor must have OCD or something.
