Description Richard Johnson's Background:
Richard C. Johnson was born on January 13th, 1987, in Council Bluffs, Iowa into a family of long serving members of the military. His father, Marine Gunnery Sergeant Tom Johnson, and his mother, Senior Airman in the Air force, also were born into military families during the beginning of the Vietnam War. Throughout Richard’s young life, and especially in school, he was under constant discipline and held to rigorous standards that made him grow into an extreme military mindset. It was no question that Richard’s father wanted to raise his son to be in the military, which Richard ended up doing, but many times Richard pondered on seeking other potential lines of work in the future, one of them being politics.
From his father’s persuasion, Richard in middle school and high school got to learn and fluently speak two foreign languages, one being Spanish and the other being German. This allowed Richard to start learning French and Russian on his own by his senior year in high school. He was fairly young to graduate high school, which he was only 17 by that time, which allowed him to immediately join the army in 2004, nearly a year following the 2003 Iraq invasion.
Richard was sent to Fort Benning, Georgia, where he went through 10 weeks of basic training, followed by 14 weeks of combat training, and excelled as a very accurate rifleman. In late July of 2005, he was sent to Germany to spend time overseas before he was to then be shipped to the Middle East for his actual experience in combat. By late September, 2005, Richard was sent to Afghanistan, instead of Iraq, to be a part of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, which was being deployed to the region itself.
By 2008, due to Richard’s extremely good service record, he was recommended by his commanders to be sent to Ranger’s School, and become an Army Ranger, he even was able to get a congressman to endorse him for such a pursuit. And so from that, within that year, he decided to go to Ranger School and go through the extremely tough 60 days of hell that would prove important for him as an Army Ranger later on.

The next year, and as a part of the 1st Ranger Battalion, special forces, Richard made a daring act of heroism by saving five stranded U.S. soldiers in a blown out building by himself. Taking multiple shots from Taliban insurgents, and being grazed several times. He was awarded multiple Purple Hearts following the engagement. In 2017, he was then awarded the Medal of Honor by President Donald Trump for that act of heroism he made in 2009.
Over the course of being in the military, Richard formed many political and philosophical views about the military and the world itself, mostly from time he was able to spend in West Point in 2010-2014 to become an officer.
In 2029, a Lieutenant Colonel by then, Richard joined as a member of all the Constitutional Conventions that were underway which saw the breakaway from the U.S. to form the R.S.A. This was immediately followed by the convention electing him the military commander of the militia, and effectively president pro tempore of the R.S.A. From 2030 to 2032, Richard led a very successful campaign of overthrowing the government of the U.S., which was tyrannical at that point, and reclaiming all U.S. territory into the R.S.A, with the re-establishment of a constitutional republic.
In November of 2032, Republican Richard Johnson successfully won the presidency of the R.S.A. amounting to 274 electoral votes. He served as president for 16 years, where he left the office of presidency in 2049.

R.S.A. Background:
The history of the R.S.A. begins where the U.S. starts to crumble in the mid and late 2020’s. The economy of the American system started to deteriorate, although not to the level of a depression, yet. Constant infighting and rampant bureaucracy plagued the United States of America as the people within started to become more divided since the Civil War. Most of this was resulted from the fact that many of the politicians in Washington failed to recognize the needs of society and perform politically beneficial for the people. The ideal of America was thought to have been the bastion of the world’s freedom and those who love freedom, however it was a dwindling thing.
Although even with America’s citizens so demoralized and politically exhausted, America is unique in the fact that in nearly every hopeless situation, she ends up rising right back up to overcome its challenges. Many in the late 2020’s occasionally clinged on to that notion, in hopes that something good would happen.
The chaos that ensued in the United States only really sparked right after a tragic event unfolded known as, “Fallen Eagle”. The event took place on the 9th of April, 2027, where Republican President Mike Pence and his VP, Noah Thompson, were killed in the shooting down of Air Force One, done so by a hypersonic missile. The FBI and the highest elements of the military were able to figure out that a traitor in the Air Force’s missile defense system had gone rogue and was successful in taking control of one of the missiles, and shot down Air Force One as it flew over. The public were horrified when the president was reported dead, it parred to the type of environment where JFK was killed in 1963.
With the President and Vice President dead, the Speaker of the House was sworn in as President, and that is where it all began. The Speaker was a man by the name of Robert Bayden, who had ambitions to turn the U.S. into a socialist utopia. President Bayden, although a registered Democrat, was purely socialist, and could only obtain his position in the House of Rep. if he was a Democrat, since his policies were more towards the left. He was somewhat lucky in his obtaining of the Speakership when the House and Senate flipped Democrat in the 2026 midterm elections.
Bayden immediately began to issue executive orders by the dozens every week. He made multiple executive orders that infringed on the constitution and violated congressionally passed legislation. By the November 2028 election, there were nearly 26 unconstitutional orders he passed that were contested in the Supreme Court. His careless and tyrannical actions caused massive breakdowns in the U.S. economy, so much to the point that the condition of the market was as bad as the Great Depression. From Bayden’s systematic subversion, he also successfully had the November, 2028 election rigged, where he illegitimately won with a narrow lead against former Governor Ron Desantis. Many in the public knew that such a win was impossible, and this resulted in many riots and firefights with law enforcement. Public officials that spoke in opposition to Bayden often ended up in “accidents” which resulted in their deaths, and some into paralyzed states of existence; he soon no longer had opposition in the congress to pass any measure he wanted. With such tyrannical and evil overreach by the newly named “Dictator Bayden”, the calls of insurrection were flaring in every state in the country. Meetings began, and a constitutional convention was held by unofficially elected representatives from each state.
In July, 2029, former Lt. Col. Richard Johnson of the US Army Rangers, evacuated his fellow delegates out of the Houston convention that was under attack from federal troops trying to capture the delegates. This federal operation also happened to be organized and ordered by Bayden himself, since he wanted to remove any threat of opposition to his now growing regime. Following that was the declaration of martial law by Dictator Bayden in all 50 states. This caused utter outrage from the public, and shortly after, the delegates from the convention declared secession from the U.S. Government, with 32 states forming the “Rangerian States of America. Richard was elected by the delegation to be the provisional president of the RSA, and with that, Richard was able to organize millions and millions of armed civilians into militia units, with nearly 80 divisions being formed at its peak.
In 2030, the states of California, Oregon, and Washington were occupied by RSA militia, having met little resistance from the population. In 2031, Richard organized and executed an offensive into the North Eastern Coast of the U.S., in hopes of capturing the capital of Washington. This was certainly a doable task, as nearly all federal troops were weakened by Bayden’s military policies. And so, in January of 2032, after a year of such grinding advancement, Washington D.C. was captured by Patriot and militia forces, with Bayden being one of the many captives. As the nation of America began to heal from its won civil war, many in the political sphere already started running for political office.
Richard immediately resigned from being provisional president to run for the official office of the presidency in the 2032 election. Even with a short time to build support, Richard successfully was able to win the 2032 election carrying 274 electoral votes.

From 2033 to 2039, the RSA remained at a very prospering peace, having massive economic, military, financial and social boom constantly for six years. However, in that year of 2039, the RSA entered into a war with the Chinese and the Russians, which officially sparked the long expected Third World war. The following year, and due to the 22nd amendment now allowing 4 terms, Richard ran for a third term as he saw all of the other political runners being too incompetent to replace him during a war. Although in reality Richard was correct on him being the best choice, he was extremely close to losing his 3rd term due to the sentiment of a 2 term tradition still being a strong one. In January, 2045, the war with China and Russia was ended, with the RSA and her allies having finished with a victorious conclusion. On the 20th of January, 2049, President Richard finally left office after 16 years of reign, never once breaking a promise to his supporters. He was then replaced by six star general William John Fred who served under him in the war, and he went forward with serving as president for 8 years, continuing Richard’s policies.
