While not the same church as in your fine picture here, today I learned much about Birdsville and Jenkins county.  What a lovely place to live in.  Excellent painting, I like the sky in particular.   www.hrcga.org/church/fair-have… That's some plantation y'all got there!

I helped paint the old plantation house there.  The antebellum chapel and old slave quarters were still intact then, sure they still are.

Good for you!  We never had plantations in most of Texas, there may be some out east.  My grandmother lived out her life on the remains of the family spread in Louisiana, formerly thousands of acres but reduced to 180 when she died.  I loved the place.  Georgia is just this awesome state.

It was lovely.  There are so many hidden treasures in every state of the Union, it is just a matter of hearing about them.  I cannot drive far without stopping to read historical markers.  There is so much I will never know, and I ain't talking particle physics neither!
