Description Most of the moon Deimos had been sacrificed by the consortium in the first phase of terraforming. The dark carbon-rich material had been mined and dropped on the Martian polar caps, to begin melting the carbon dioxide ices and thickening Mars' tenuous atmosphere.The remaining rocky core of Deimos served then as the basis for an orbital port, and was renamed Linguee by the Chinese leaders of the terraforming project. Now, half a century after the start of the project, the tiny port was rapidly growing too small to handle the interplanetary traffic that relied upon it for fuel, maintenance and docking.

Done in Lightwave and Photoshop. Background by GrahamTG. The large ship with aeobrake was built using components from Axeman3D's Truss Ship set of components.

In the upper lefthand corner there's a tiny streamlined ship. Is it a Mars shuttlecraft? Anyway good work!

Yes, fully reusable SSTO.

Cool! Your own design or a NASA/ESA/Etc. . . one?

It is my design, but very much based on the design constraints used for a number of hypothetical studies.

Is that a biconic re-entry vehicle of some sort nearest the viewpoint??

It is, indeed. A reusable ground to orbit shuttlecraft. Its a little worn out from its years of service.

This is pretty cool, these style of ships have a nice retroappeal. (I just made up the word, it really should be one word)
Someone shared this over on Google Plus and a trend in the comments was one I had to add to;
"Come on people, get this crap sorted!
My Port is getting warm and my Linguini cold! I don't have half a dozen stardates to wait for you dolts to get your act together!"

I have been looking at a TON of Manchu art, lately.He is a major inspiration for me. I was trying not to copy any single design or composition, but I definitely wanted a Manchu "vibe" for this piece! BTW, have you heard his third art book was just released?

I'd say most of them are TL 8 or early 9. All the big guys are nuclear fission and ion or plasma drives.

Thanks! Most of these have been built for various other projects, or had been half finished on my hard drive. This was a great excuse to finish them up!
