I took the Link pencils and threw some colors on it. I tried to give it a little oil-painty look.Done in Gimp+ GPS

Thanks, I went for the Richard Isanove technique of making the whole flat layer a really dark brown and adding all the colors and highlights to that on the layer on top.

It was in the back of the first Marvel Dark Tower hardcover collection. I don't know where else his technique is shown.

I really like using Gimp too, and I do use it by choice and not by it's free price tag (which is also really nice) I guess it just feels more like drawing and painting to me. Although when it comes to drawing lineart/underdrawings I'm going to stick with doing it exclusively on paper until I A: Get a Cintique or B: Gimp implements free canvas rotation like corel painter.

HAHAH thanks. I do think that this is kind of "new classic" Link hair color. I did flirt with the idea of the red/brunet hair color that he had in the art of the classic NES games (and maybe I still will for another picture).
