This is Zira with her younger half-brother Nunka who is named after what Kovu's name began as in an early draft of TLK2, it also gives a nod to Nuka where Zira named him Nuka as a reminder of her brother. Nunka's design comes from the beanie version of Nuka shown here: Nuka
Zira's father Ajabu is under the impression that Nunka is his son, when in fact he isn't fathered by him. When Ajabu figures this out he kills Nunka, Zira attacks him to protect her brother, but it is no use. During the fight with her father Zira is knocked into the same river that would later kill her. But this time the river washes her to the pridelands where she meets the young prince Taka.
